Chris Daughtry Inks Deal - To Start New Band

We all knew that Chris Daughtry was going to get his own recording deal the minute he opened his mouth on the American Idol try outs. Well, Clive Davis and RCA Records have sealed the deal. They aren't wasting any time either. He is currently looking for band members and writing his own songs (with the help of 'A-list collaborators').
Chris Daughtry won't be fronting for Fuel, but Chris will be forming his own rock band. Daughtry, 26, one of the American Idol finalists has signed with music mogul Clive Davis in conjunction with 19 Recordings Unlimited, the label managed by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller, RCA Records announced Monday.
The rocker will join fellow American Idol contestants - “ winner Taylor Hicks and runner-up Katharine McPhee - “ that have already signed similar deals with 19 Recordings and Davis, who launched the careers of Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and many others. According to a statement by RCA, Daughtry will form a band and "has already begun to work with A-list collaborators" to write and record new material. (source)
