Who Would Take Aging Advice From Suzanne Somers Anyway?

Suzanne Somers has come out with a book called 'Ageless: The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones' based on hormone therapies. When did she become a doctor? I must have missed that QVC episode. Physicians (I mean real ones) say that the book is filled with "nonmedical, misleading and unsubstantiated" claims that could be harmful to women. Isn't this a huge jump from her days as a ThighMaster promoter? Now she is telling women to mess around with their hormones. When asked to defend her writings, Suzanne said the book is a: "medically validated approach" that can help reverse "the aging process" and maintain "a healthy, vibrant, mentally sharp, sexually active life - while building the body's natural defenses against age-related diseases.

"We believe 'Ageless: The Naked Truth About Bioidentical Hormones' is detrimental and dangerous to the thousands of women who will read it," Dr. Erika Schwartz, a Manhattan internist on the board of the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, told Page Six. "The book freely and repeatedly blurs the line of medical ethics and science with hearsay." (source)

You, know...I just might now.

I talked with my doc about all of the symptoms that I was having. We decided to start bio hormones.

Wow! What a difference in my quality of life. I feel great again.

By the way, my doc said that he actually met Suzanne Somers. He also made the comment that he was amazed and that she knew more about hormones than anyone (doctor or otherwise) that he had ever met.

My doctor has been using the bio hormones for many years now. After his wife had her uterus removed, he watched her go downhill. She was on the same hormones that he had been using with his patients. After consulting with old patients, he found that they either stopped the hormone treatments or just put up with the side effects. It was at this time that he set out to research what was wrong. He found that they needed bio hormones.

All I know is that I feel wonderful again and ready to start living my life. The last 5-6 years have been hell because of menopause symptoms.

Her advice just might be worth a try. If it does not help, you lost nothing, eh?
