A friend of mine passed away this morning in her sleep. Her husband found her dead in bed when he woke up to go to work. She was only 27 years old. We grew up together and had our babies the same month. We lost contact while we went to college. But since both having children we started to get to know one another again. I got the phone call this morning around 10:30.
She has two children under the age of 5. I left my daughter with my father and went to my friend's house. Her mother was inconsolable. She kept on screaming "God, Why didn't you take me?! Why didn't you take me?!" I've been crying since this morning. I cannot believe it. Her children will never know their mother. No one knows how it happened.
The husband called her parents around 5AM and said "Nicole is cold and she won't wake up." They rushed over to find her dead in bed. The oldest son kept on saying "What's wrong with Mommy?" I feel sick to my stomach.
She was so young and now her children are without a mother. It's been a really bad day for me. I came home and kissed my baby girl about a million times. Today you should love whoever you love a little bit more.
