Jessica Simpson Messes Up On Dolly Parton Tribute And Cries Her Way Off Stage
WHAT HAPPENED Jessica Simpson? Jessica was set to perform a tribute to Dolly Parton during the Kennedy Center Honors. She got on stage, started singing Nine to Five and just stopped right in the middle! She said "so nervous" and ran off the stage. The audience had no idea what to do so they just sat there quietly. OMG! She must really love Dolly and didn't want to disappoint her. I wonder if CBS is going to air the performance with the rest of the show on Dec 26th? I doubt Papa Joe will allow that.
Singer-actress Jessica Simpson was in tears last night after flubbing a song she was performing during the Kennedy Center Honors. Simpson was on stage to sing Nine to Five as part of the tribute to Dolly Parton, one of the evening's five honorees. Simpson ended her performance abrupty with the words "so nervous" and quickly exited the stage. The stunned audience remained silent, giving her no applause.
Simpson appeared to be crying when she and other singers in the tribute returned to the stage. CBS will broadcast the show Dec. 26 at 9 p.m. (source)

This chick BLEW it when she divorced Nick! Now there is no escape from the slavedriver, Papa Joe! She probably regrets her decision to NOT have a husband and family of her own! Poor thing!
Just goes to show everyone has their off days. Jessica doesnt seem the same after the divorce, I guess all those rumours about her being so depressed are true. And I agree with Deege, Papa Simpson must go!

Once again, one of the Simpsons is exposed for the total unprofessional that she is. She needs to give up performing completely and stick to her infomercials and hawking cheesy hair extensions on HSN.
ET said she retaped the song after the ceremony was over and that the newer (not messed up) version will be included in the broadcast.
In the one that MSNBC showed tonight she finished the song, but then said she was nervous and ran off the stage, but it sounded as if she finished the song.
She is having a hard time of it right now, but then again she also just went through a divorce.

I am from Dallas. I had the priveledge to hear Jessica sing when she was younger. She HAD a beautiful voice & probably still does. Problem: Her Dad is SICK! & Jessica has become obsessed with being trying to be this image of "sexy". She now makes these horrible noises with her voice when she sings...something Brittney started. If Jessica would just concentrate on singing and not trying to fit her voice, body, life-style into this "card-board" cut-out of what she thinks/her father thinks society wants I think her albums & her image as a performer would just explode. Maybe instead of spending so much time shopping, dating, and trying to please Daddy she should go back to the beginning. Hire a vocal coach again & re-train her voice. It seems like she has lost herself & her talent somewhere along the way. It is a real shame! It would be nice to hear her really really sing again!
