Hilary Swank Is Ready For Children

Hilary Swank is at that point in her life where she is finally ready for children. This isn't to say that her current boyfriend / agent, John Campisi feels the same way. She sat down with People Magazine and opened up about her personal decision.

"I definitely would like kids someday. That's definitely something that I've always thought about as a very, very young girl. I just love kids and that would be an important thing to happen for me someday ... whenever the time is right." (source)

Hilary is 32. When did you have your first child? When are you planning on having your first child? Or are you just not even ready to think about it.

I had my daughter at 28 and my son 18 months later when I was 29. For me it was the perfect age because I had been married for 4 years and I was ready to take time off from work. Having them 18 months apart, I would not recommend! You have two babies to take care of and it can be overwhelming.

As for people commenting on the age issue, I think it all depends on your personality and situation. Children are wonderful but also a huge responsibility that changes your life dramatically. Not everyone realizes how your life changes, and it can be very stressful on a marriage in the beginning. I also realized there are certain people who should not have kids, and can contribute to the world in better ways.

I had my fisrt one at 21 got married at 22 and now we are expecting our 2nd in May. I know it seems like its all went to fast but i have never been so happy in my life. Having my baby made me grwo up so fast but i needed that to grow up and start caring about my future cause if it wasnt for him i would be doing the same thing partying drinking and out all night but because of him i have somothing to work in life. I started school again to become a nurse and im loving it. My Husband is 28 and is the best thing that could have ever happened to me he changed me into this wonderful mom/wife. I will be 24 when our 2nd is born and i really hope its a girl cause i only want 2 kids. I always wanted to be a young mom so after 24 im done having kids.SO im really hoping for a girl this time.

I waited too long. I knew I might have problems because I had an ovary removed (due to endometriosis) when I was young. I got married at 34, wound up having all kinds of reproductive problems and just had a total abdominal hysterectomy. It depressed me terribly, but I figure there is a reason for everything and am doing better now. We may adopt someday. I am always happy for other people, but I admit a little pang of envy when I hear about women older than me getting pregnant for the first time.

I definitely am waiting until I am financially secure (at my present age of 22? not so much). Also, my parents had my brother, my sister and I at 34, 36, and 37 - no problems at all. Also, because my parents waited, they had enough money to give us nice things and also pay for all three of our college educations, and had already trvelled and had 16 years to themselves (they planned on waiting).

Honestly, I hate the sound of a child crying, it gives me a headache. Definitely should not have children until that stops, so maybe never. This is kind of hard to explain to prospective partners, but I figure the right guy or girl will respect my decisions.

PS - you always hear about how mothers never have time to themselves, which I think is very, very sad and a great shame and something that I think needs to change.
