This story seems to keep resurfacing. And as soon as it does, a representative at
Jive Records or
Britney Spears' camp squashes the rumor. I don't know what to believe. No one is in a rush to get Britney working on her album again. They can't seem to figure out a way to market the music with Britney living her life the way she is. Jive hasn't even picked producers yet! They are even concerned that Britney has lost her core fan base. Are they thinking too much? Shouldn't the music speak for itself?
Spears, who was supposed to record tracks throughout November, December and this month, stopped going to studio sessions because it interfered with her late-night antics. "Right now, she is trying to lay down some tracks, but no one is keen to move very quickly because there is the issue of how to market the album," an insider said. "Jive hasn't even picked producers for the album."
The record execs are also concerned about Britney's image. "If she doesn't clean up her act - and soon - it is going to be a problem. The public has grown really tired of her antics and despite her and [manager Larry Rudolph] promising she would change, she hasn't," continued our source. "She has lost her core fan base of teen girls." (source)
A rep for Spears had this to say:
"We are anticipating an album release second half of 2007. Jive is not worried about marketing the album, in fact we are looking forward to the release. We don't comment on our artists' personal lives." (source)
What do you think? Will you or won't you buy the album? Personally, I LOVED her last album. When this new one releases, I will check it out on iTunes and download the songs I like. I don't care about whether or not she wears underwear or if she pukes all over her boyfriends. If it's a good song, I'm going to purchase it.

IF IT HAS GOOD DANCE MUSIC I WILL BE BUYING IT! I HAVE ALWAYS LIKED HER MUSIC SO FAR!
Yea regardless of anything...she always puts out a hot ass album...ive always like all of her records!
I hope she loses everthing and everyone...teach her a lesson and make her an example to others following in her foot steps....she has a god complex...someone needs to take it away from her and put her back in the trailer park!
With Maximum on this.
Karen, you make an excellent point!! A record label would be incredibly stupid to drop such a valuable asset. She has faithful fans, who know what is written about her is taken completely out of context.
Britney will be greater than ever.
