Lindsay Lohan Leaves Rehab

Will the paparazzi evvver leave her alone? Poor girl...she should have gone to rehab out of LA? Duh!

there are several reasons why she would attend local community AA meeting in conjuntion with inpatient rehab. to be sure, the rehab she is attending would be providing individual, group, and probably psychiatric services. but there are several benefits to attending an outside AA program has that her rehab does not. the other patients in her rehab are likely to be on the same level of addiction as her - probably fairly severe. AA meetings would allow for her to be exposed to individuals who have been in recovery longer - and can share those skills & offer more experienced support.

its also probably helpful for her to engage in these meetings while also being supervised in rehab so that the transition from rehab to "the real world" wont be as much of a shock. she will have already made contacts and will associate these contacts & this situation with sobriety. maintaining that link with the community and making new or ongoing contacts with people in the community is extremely important to success after being discharged from rehab.
