How Much Does A 30 Second Ad Cost On American Idol?

I was reading Reality Blurred, a great website online that specializes in reality television, and they had two articles about American Idol this morning.


  • The producers of American Idol have decided to increase the results show to one hour! YAWN! But I have a feeling I know why...


  • For a 30 second ad spot on the show, Fox gets a whopping $745,000.



Can you imagine? Now let's throw in the Coca Cola and Ford deals that we all have to painfully sit through and you got yourself one helluva money maker.
UPDATE:

And while we are on American Idol, TMZ is reporting that Chris R and Alania are an item. I can see these two together. When asked, the show had no comment.
