As you know, I have nothing to do all day. So, when I saw Sanjaya making his way to Meridth Viera on the Today show, I raised up my television volume and began to type. Sanjaya admitted that he got his GED after sophomore year and plans to attend Berklee's School of Music in Boston once the American Idol tour wraps. He plans on continuing music, acting and modeling and wants to "experience the entertainment industry as a whole."
Here are some excerpts from this morning's interview:
On how he handled the Sanjaya haters:

"I just didn't focus on the negative. Because i really thinks its important to stay positive and be yourself."

On how he ranked himself against the other American Idol hopefuls:

"I didn't think I was the best singer. I said that on the show. But it's not about who is the best. it's about who is the best performer."

On regretting any decisions he's made:

"No, not at all. Everything that happened on the show I learned from. It was really important for me to make mistakes because I got better each week.

On that little girl in the audience (Ashley) crying:

"Honestly, I was kinda scared when I saw her. I didn't know I could have that effect on someone. You just don't know the extent of American Idol."

On the relationships he's made on the show:

"We were a family. They said it was the closest group AI had. We were all really closed. Everyone really loved one another. It's kinda corny but it's true."

On his morning hair routine:

"Wake up and wet it a little bit and let it go."

Last but not least, On his message to Simon:

"Simon - I commend you for your honesty and your brutality and ym, I just wnated to say thank you because you are the person that taught me the most on the show."
