Keira Knightley is terribly upset that her name gets thrown in the media mix of anorexic Hollywood girls because she insists that is just her body type. Here she is speaking candidly with Elle:
On the tabloids including images of her when talking about eating disorders:
“When all that blew up, I felt terrible. It appeared that I were promoting something when I absolutely was not. I am thin because that’s what I am, and I was thinner at that point because of the work I do. Nothing else.”
On losing weight while filming POTC:
“I had lost weight. We were filming in searing temperatures and shooting fight scenes in which you were wearing a wetsuit underneath a load of corsets, fighting with heavy weights in the water. Can you imagine a more advanced cardio workout than that done hour after hour?”
On seeking advice from a doctor to gain weight:
“He told me that for someone of my body type to get to a [European] size 12, I would have to eat a lot of sh– food, stop exercising and drink loads,” she says. “But I don’t want to have to go ’round eating crap and being really unhealthy in order for people to stop having a go at me.”

Please, somebody give this girl a cheeseburger!
yeah right, she is full of it. she looks like death in this picture.
Maybe they should tell her being over skinny causes more wrinkles earlier.. because it does.
Yes, d.c., you are right…I have noticed that the wrinkles on former ana girls DO NOT go away! They get to KEEP their self-induced wrinkles. Perhaps vanity will help Keira? I want her to stay alive!
ok, the skinny-ness i can tolerate. but the constant pucker on her face gets on my last NERVE arrrghhh!!
What a shame. She is so gorgeous in Bend it Like Beckham (sp?), Love Actually, and Domino… now she looks sad and wobbly.
I kind of understand where she is coming from. I am 5ft 6, weigh 8stone and my BMI sits at 18.1 which is supposedly underweight.
Yes I am slim but I eat pretty much what I want, and dont exercise. Some people are just naturally slender. Just as some are naturally big boned.
What is annoying (and what I think Keira was getting at) is that people dont turn around to somebody who is really obese and say "thats disgusting, you need to lose weight", yet they think its okay to slate slim people.
Everybody needs to just realise that there are all different kinds of shapes and sizes in this world and no one particular way is right. If people spent the time concentrating on themselves and keeping their mouths shut about others the world would be a better place.
I kind of know where Keira is coming from. I am 5ft 6, weigh 8 stone and have a bmi of 18.1 which is underweight. I have always been this way, give or take a couple of pounds.
However, I eat what I like and dont exercise. Some people are just naturally slim, just as some are naturally big boned.
The annoying part (and i think this is what she was getting at), is that people think its fine to be rude about a slim persons weight in a way they never would about a larger person.
If people spent less time worrying about others, and more time on themselves the world would be a much better place.
I don’t think she’s anorexic. There was this picture of her in shorts and a tank top- her legs were normal. Most anorexic people you see have ‘chicken legs’.
