You always take for granted that actors are comfortable doing sex scenes. I even think that some of the gals are lucky if they happen to be matched up with a male lead that I find attractive. But it really must be soooo nerve racking to get naked in front of the cast and crew. Even if they close the set, you still have to strip down in front of at least the camera man, the lighting guy, the director and the male lead. Thats three too many people if you ask me! Well, Eva Mendes needed a little... help to get through her first sex scene on camera. The staff of We Own the Night had to pour her a vodka and orange juice to loosen her up a bit. And it worked!

"I wasn't comfortable at all. They were very sweet and they poured me a vodka and orange juice and then I was fine. I'm very professional and I don't usually drink on the job but that morning I had a little vodka and OJ.
"It was my first sex scene and thank God it was with [director] James Gray. Not that it was actually with James. He did it at the end of the shoot, so it was the last day and I was really, really comfortable with these clowns."
