Kelly Clarkson In Elle Magazine

Elle's July Music Issue hits newsstands tomorrow. But you don't have to wait to hear what Kelly Clarkson has to say about having children and how her success is not affecting who she is. INO has the sneak peak below.
- On not wanting children: "My point of view is that I shouldn't be a mother at all, because I'd be horrible. I'm not willing to be that selfless."
- On marriage: "I'm not keen on marriage. I don't let many people in. Men come and go. Friends are what I care about."
- On her "type': "I can't stand pretty boys. The guys I date are the just-rolled-out-of-bed, scruffy type. Baseball cap, flannel shirt. Like Luke on Gilmore Girls."
- On being famous: "I could give a crap about being a star. I've always just wanted to sing and write."
- On never having been in love: "I know people probably think I've been heartbroken, because of the stuff I've sung and written. I love my friends and family. But I have never said the words "I love you' to anyone in a romantic relationship. Ever. I am very old-school, conservative in my thinking when it comes to relationships. Love is something you work at. It doesn't come easily. There are going to be bad days. You are going to have to work at loving someone when they are being an idiot. People think they're just going to meet the perfect guy. Don't be ridiculous."
- On being ambivalent about her success: "It is weird when a 12-year-old tells me I am their favorite artist. I'm always like, It's just because you're young and you haven't heard everybody yet. In time, I'll be weeded out. And that's cool. I know I'm a good singer, but I know who I am, too."
- On her bad qualities: "I tend to be early. I'm not patient. I have no tolerance for stupidity. I work too much. All my conversations revolve around my job. So I'm boring."
- On her childhood: "I had a really big issue with self-consciousness when I was young. I was highly emotional. I worried so much. For most of my childhood I was walking on eggshells trying to make everyone happy."
- On unflattering paparazzi shots: "I'm fine with it. I just don't care. I don't wear makeup in public. I don't worry about what I'm wearing. Hell, I wore pajamas in high school."
- On battling with record industry executives over the release of My December: "I've sold more than 15 million records worldwide, and still nobody listens to what I have to say. Because I'm 25 and a woman... My resistance upsets a lot of people, because we could make a lot of money. And I'm not hatin' on money. But you know in Funny Girl, when they make Barbara Streisand sing the "beautiful girl' song, and she is singing these lyrics and she knows she's not that person? I'm just not comfortable doing things that don't feel like me."
- On declining an offer of $10 million by Clive Davis to ditch five of her songs for more radio-friendly picks of his choosing: "I am a good singer, so I can't possible be a good writer. Women can't possibly be good at two things. I haven't lost my temper about it. It only drives me more. If your thing is to bring me down, cool. I'll just work harder."
- On refusing to talk about past relationships: "When it comes to certain parts of my life, I won't allow myself to be vulnerable at all. I have a lot of trust issues. Most people are like that, I think."

i know people are going to scream Photoshop but I think she looks great regardless.
awww i wore pjs in high school tooooo. i prefer comfy :)
She sounds like a feminist lesbian, no offence or whatever.
I didnt use to think much of her, but after reading this I think she is great, I share her point of view on most things and she is not afraid to speak her mind. The photos are very photoshoped specially her body, she weighs more than appears, but who cares, everybody sems to be doin it.... And Ugh would it be that bad is she was a femenist lesbian?
why would it be offensive to say she sounds like a feminist lesbian? feminists are cool and so are lesbians.
I love her too death. She is amazing and truly one of the best now a days she makes this industry look good. She is real and raw thats whats great her songs are emotional and beautiful. Her voice is amazing and her personality seems fantastic. I have always loved her from the beginning of American Idol to now and i will keep on loving her music and listening to her songs and singing along. Because for me thats a true artist. Not Paris Hilton or Britney Spears or the others who think they are real. Ms.Clarkson is one of a kind. And i just wished more artist were like her. I think she is beautiful no matter her weight "problem" but i think thats true beauty. Thank you Kelly for being honest and true.
wearing pajamas at school is not my cup of tea!
I love her! and props for honest about not wanting to have kids. Alot of normal people are afraid to admit to that.
hell, i wear pyamas for work. but no one knows that they are, too nice;) never knew much about her, but after reading this...she is such a smart, strong girl. awesome. all of u who like her music should really buy the album to prove those wankers she was right. support kelly!
Will someone PLEASE hook me up with her!??
Dang.
Kelly is awesome---HOT!
She looks great but they must have photoshopped her. No way has she lost so much weight in such a short time!
I kind of feel like she is really negative about herself. Being realistic is great but she also puts herself down and just sounds like she is trying to make herself sound like she is less of a person or doesnt deserve certain things. I think she is a great singer but if she is going to have such a negative attitude it kinda makes me not like her to much.
That is some major airbrushing. They cut her size in half
total lesbian, who wont own up to her sin, as it will kill her record sales. acts like a man, has a bigger potty mouth than any guy.and her face looks like the backside of mule. mean to. and very vindictive. shes everything wrong with amerika anymore. not one oz of sincerity or goodness in her. she should get together was a power lesbian like suzie orman or ellen degenerate. she become more masculine every year. is she taking testorone shots?
