The setting is ruined by the trashiness of the couple.

I love how they have tons of gift registries for things like a $1,300 bowl from Tiffany... how selfish of them. I give props to Nicole and Tim who asked guests to donate to charity as their gift. I cannot stand Eva. Snobbbbb

Too Funny!!! I just was married there last Septembre!!! The name of the Castle is Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte.
Dare I act even the slightest bit smug, that I thought of it first!! :)
I can tell you that is was the most incredible place ever...Though it looks quite formal.. there was a sense of coziness to the place. Mostly likely because the Comte & Comtess de Vogue, still live in the Chateau. If you want to see more photos of the Chateau then check out my photo site.. www.catwall.smugmug.com

Congrats to them!

Ps. the Grand Salon can only sit about 160 with 10 at each table! Makes me wonder what her numbers will be?

Catwall - your wedding photos are gorgeous!! and that place is incredible :) I liked how you got the bridal party coming in on horse carriage.

This place seems to cost a fortune to rent!

Although the castle you were at and the one posted on here looks completely different?!?

I agree with In. These people have everything & enough money to but anything else. Eva always striked me as a diva bitch. They should have asked any money to go to charities instead of asking for gifts. Tacky.

Thanks for the compliments. Kerche, you notice details! Most of the photos of Vaux in our pictures are from the backside of the castle. The picture in above is from the front. Last year at our wedding they were repairing the roof and had scaffle visible from the front.
Since we are from New Orleans we too asked that gifts to New Orleans Charties/rebuilding rather than gifts to us.

Miss M. you are so right weddings are about declaring love! But they too can also be about celebrating that love. That is truly the beauty weddings they can be as unique both big and small as you want them to be. I am sure your Unique wedding will reflect all that you are and love when you are ready.
As strange as it sounds, had we had our wedding here in NOLA we would have had almost 800 people!!! France was a way to keep it a little more intimate.. only people who love you would want to go!!! All in all we had 160 guests... pretty managible. NOLA is such an interconnected city with generations who still all live here. Also, after the storm, we had little options as to places we could have a wedding, damage to building, no staff at hotels. etc. Happy to say that as far as French Quarter and most the place you would visit n NOLA are alive and well! We still have much to do in getting our surrounding areas up and citizens of all cultures back... alas the variance of cultures is truly the charm of our city!

In,
Yes, I do travel to france, NYC & LA quite a bit. I am a makeup artist so travel comes with the job! Indeed long hours but fun... however I will be tailoring it down a bit as we might be pregnant!!!! :) Wierd to even say that! :)

I was lucky to have married a man that loves to travel and "make memories" as much as I do.
(Yes, I know I sound schmoopy... but hey I am still a newly wed!)

Renee! LOL GO SPURS!!! (I was actually born in TEXAS!)

I had met many years ago la baronne Elisabeth de Ladoucette, née de Vogüé and her daughters, I never knew that a relative of them was the owner of this superb castle. I believe that is one of the most beautiful “domain” in France in private hands. I will visit soon Paris, and I will ask la baronne’s daughter to take me to this merveille. Will be a quite unique experience.
