Why Is Nicole Richie Doing The Bag Move?

Nicole Richie kept her bag in front of her belly as she exited her car and made her way into Joel Madden's house. Why is she using this patented Hollywood move? TMZ is reporting she is trying to make it seem like she is pregnant so it will help her get a more lenient sentence in the next few weeks. Others are saying she actually IS pregnant. I am still standing by the impossibility of the whole thing.

i think she is pregnant.. my friend who is smaller than she is got pregnant and had the most adorable baby boy.... she is capable and i think she is pregnant... but her chances of miscarrying are so high..... >.
