I have a little over 2o pounds to lose. I know some of you out there are in need of a little pep talk every now and then. STEP AWAY FROM THAT TWINKIE! :) Well, that’s what I need to hear. Let’s use this page as a place to support one another whenever we need it. Have a great recipe? tip? tracking tool? Share it!! I’ll start.

    What helped me to lose some weight were frozen vegetables. I ate them all the time for a snack. I knew I could eat whenever I wanted, as long as it was a bowl of steamed vegetables. Cosco has all different varieties. Same with cereal~
    Feeling full is what really helped me keep away from the unhealthy food choices.

    I am in a "maintain eeeeek lose a few, maintain" mode- lol

    I know you are a mother too.

    By the long bike rides…this is how I finally idi it.

    I saved enough to buy a bike last month(LOL)

    and this month I saved for a toddler pull behind (the kind that holds 2 children up to 100lbs)

    LOVE IT!

    We used to take turns riding at night when my husband came home with our older ones.

    Now, We all go as a family!
    Talk about getting your will power up! There is NEVER an excuse not to exercise now
    because I take then with me!

    And the added weight of 70 lbs the twins weigh together is SURE to help (I hope to God it will)

    It is a win-win situation :)

    I am strictly vegetarian

    mostly vegan (I eat eggs in baked goods)

    Im on a 800 calories a day diet, and its working… i also take vitamins so i dont end up passing out.
    After a while, you are not hungry, but i think i will suffer during my PMS.

    i have a 4 year old and a 1 year old and i just started working off the weight about 4 months ago. ive lost 20 lbs and would like to lose about 10 more but have gotten stuck. i lost the majority by workin out 3 days a week and cutting back on my portions. it gets hard though because i just love food.

    I just made a wonderful mistake!

    I got unsweetened applesauce and was going to snack on it. But it was fresh out of the jar and very warm. SO I put some in a bowl and threw it in the freezer. I forgot about it for a while. AND WHNE I WENT BACK it was AWESOME! It was like a frozen dessert but totally healthy for you!!

    Oh yeah! Xylitol is really good and can be purchased at a health food store. Some people prefer it over Stevia, which is a more concentrated sweetner. I guess you can say Stevia is an aquired taste but it is definitely not "fake crap" as it is the most natural sweetner out there. You can actually grow the herb in your garden, dry the leaves and use it that way. I like the liquid form which I put a couple drops in my Yerbe Mate tea. I try not to drink coffee when I need to lose weight cause it messes with the blood sugar, making my sweet tooth worse. I start wanting baked goods and a late afternoon chocolate fix. Yerbe Mate is known for curbing the appetite. Same with Kombucha, anyone heard of it?

    I have a 2 year old and and a 3 month old and i worked my butt off after my 6 weeks was up and was able to work out. I was running 1 and half miles in the morning and a mile a night or going to the gym for 20 mins and eating very healty. I know most ppl dont have that much time to run twice a day but once you get into the routine i promise its so much easier it takes like 3 weeks to actuly get into the routine and once your in it and it becomes part of your day its easy to do. Just dont give up and just think how happier you will be with your life. good luck to all of you guys

    Hey Vera.. After I had my daughter and started on the road to losing the baby wieght I found a picture that I had of me in a bikini and in great shape and then I had my sister take one of me with my 46lbs of post baby fat and I put both pics side by side on the frig and in the goody cabinets. It really does make you stop and think when you are having a moment of weekness. Good Luck. I lost most of my wieght in 4 months but that last 10lbs just wont go away!

    Dear bethiesny:
    Thank you for your input, i actually thought i was going to starve to
    death with only 800 calories a day, but im actually very very full.
    They recommend you drink up to 4 liters of water or diet sodas.
    You need to have a blood exam every 2 weeks to see how you are doing
    and they also check your body fat porcentage every week.
    You must have 4 meals a day and although the portions are very small
    but i make up for them by drinking water.
    They ussually don´t recommend cardio as an exercise because of the
    low ammount of calories and i have to take vitamins and minerals so
    that my energy doesn´t change.
    I tried this diet a few months ago and it worked for me, but then i quit.
    So now im giving it another try.
    Looks in my country, Argentina, are THE most important thing ever.
    Even having 5 extra pounds can make you fat to other people´s eyes.
    So that makes it even more difficult for me!

    Yes, LOVE the yerba mate tea with stevia. I drink about 10 cups a day (cold tea)
    I also like wu-long. I prob would not spend that much on tea again though.
    Vitamin B complex, iron and liquid whole food mmulti vitamin suppliments help for me keep a pure energy feeling instead of sitting there feeling like junk shoveling food in my mouth.

    And I just think , Geez I just spent all that money on supplements there is noway I am going to have more than a bite of that brownie and waste all that I just did all morning.

    I like the picture idea too. I just wish I had a skinny picture LOL!

    Once you guys start seeing results and start being happy and running and working out you will get to the point where junk food is so not worth it. Just think about that hard work out you just had befor you eat anything fatty cause if you eat it it was kinda of a point less funn and all that hard work you did goes down the drain, Im not saying never treat your self cause thats ok to but first wait till you are in a routine and start feeling good befor u start with the treats. I know at first it will be hard but just hold in there, Just tell yourself IM NOT HAPPY WITH MYSELF AND I WANT TO BE HAPPY AND FEEL SEXY FOR ME and for you man if you have one. I Have been working my butt off for 2 months now and i almost lost all my baby weight already so i know you guys can do it!!!! GOOD LUCK

    I have been looking for a cabbage soup diet for a long time without paying for it!

    Certianly a blessing I will try to go on it REAL SOON!

    Sounds healty to me! It almost sounds like a veggie detox to the T except instead of raw it is soup. This helps shed carcinogenic cells too!

    I am beginning today as well.
    Oh my, I think I have the most to lose!
    I plan on losing 40 pounds.
    I did Weight Watchers in the past, and I lost thirty from it.
    My biggest enemy is exercise–I hate it!

    Leanna i am with you. i feel like i need to lose all my weight. i started yesterday and the thing is that i have moved to this new country Rwanda to be precise and still trying to find my way round. I have started by cutting back on the amount that i eat at each meal, alcohol and sugars. so wish me luck

    Hi vera!

    I AM obsessed with all that you do, you are truly a super woman. You are don;t be gracious!

    I have 4 kids 7,5,2,2 (twins)

    I have a lways struggled with my weight.

    Pregnancy and wanting to be a healty mom started me eating all organic,brown,tea with stevia etc.

    I weighed less by about 10 pounds after I delivered the twins.

    So I thought I was on to something.

    Only I realize it NOW not then.

    So 2 years down the road after trying, atkins(vegetarian style), food combining, all vegan, all vegetarian you name it.

    I went back to just counting calories like I did when I was pregnant (because the doctor told me I needed to gain more so I had to start counting calories to be sure I had enough)

    And its an easy calculation to lose I found out by one of my customers.

    I weighed 174 (only 154 after I had the twins yikes I know!)

    Take your weight 170 x 10 1,700 calories
    is what you eat to MAINTAIN that weight.

    Want to lose?

    Subtract 500 calories by diet (not exercise)

    in addition you need to do long exercise meaning more than 30 min. take a bike ride (not fast) for 45 minutes.

    Get the slow burn, and keep your body there.

    So far, I have lost 14 pounds in about a month and 1/2

    now 160 at 5 foot 6

    And I am still trying to lose.

    I hope it helps anyone just 1 person,

    I have been struggeling with weight ALL of my life since about 13

    BTW stevia is a all natural sweetener available at GNC non bitter no chemicals!

    I have no idea how much I weigh… but I know I need to lose weight. I have come off medication last week and am desperate to lose the weight. I am eating healthily at the moment and cleared my house of anything that might add pounds onto me ;-)

    I need to do more exercise but I first have to slowly build up some energy, my medication takes it out on me.

    I started my diet today, with a bowl of cereal (the healthy one). I went to this place were they sell you frozen diet food (only 150 calories each) and i got 10 of them, for lunch and dinner.
    Also i picked up desserts, only 50 calories a pop.
    I need to lose 20 pounds, i realy hope i can do it this time.
    Im from Argentina but my boyfriend is from the US, and after the last time we saw eachother, i ate my feelings, literelly hahahaha. I gained 10 pounds in the last 6 weeks.
    Thanks Vera for doing this, i really needed it.

  34. Does anyone know of any "diet pills" over the counter that will help to minimize cravings/apetite? Not the most natural way to go, but I need to jump start. I was reading about that new Alli thing — but I heard some awful reviews about stomach(bowel) issues because of it. Any suggestions?
