A source close to Kate Hudson is claiming despite several attempts made by Owen Wilson’s ex, she can’t get through to him. The people surrounded the troubled star don’t think the connection would be a good idea.
“Kate has been trying to get in touch with Owen and is distraught that the family doesn’t want her anywhere near him,” says a pal. “She is very frustrated.” Hudson and Wilson began an on-and-off romance after shooting “You, Me and Dupree.” The relationship fizzled despite several attempts, including a visit by Wilson to Hudson’s secluded Australian film set this year.
Wilson, who was hospitalized in Los Angeles after a drug overdose and suicide attempt, has since been battling depression. And some think hearing from his ex wouldn’t help. The insider added: “[Owen's family members] don’t think Kate is good for him.”
I say this is just another media attempt to link Kate to the suicide.
This is such a sad situation. I wish the media would just shut up and him/her/his family alone.
How sick is it that someone is hiding, trying to get picks of him, hoping to see marks on his wrist?

he is old enough to know how he needs/wants to talk to, family shouldnt be the ones deciding for him right now…if he is depressed talking to people showing that they care might be what he needs.
and stop seeing her as an ex…there might be a friendship there.
He will no doubt talk to her when he is ready, in the meantime, Kate
should just chill. His family probably just thinks all the attention might be
too much right now. You know if Kate visited, there would be a hoard
of paps following her trying to get photos not to mention every thing
splashed all over the tabloids again.
