An out-of-shape, out-of-touch Britney Spears delivered what was destined to be the most talked about performance of the MTV Video Music Awards — but for all the wrong reasons. Kicking off the show Sunday night with her new single, “Gimme More,” Spears looked bleary and unprepared — much like her recent tabloid exploits on the streets of Los Angeles.
She lazily walked through her dance moves with little enthusiasm. It appeared she had forgotten the entire art of lip-synching; and, perhaps most unforgivable given her once taut frame, she looked embarrassingly out of shape.
Even the celebrity-studded audience seemed bewildered. 50 Cent looked at Spears with a confused expression; Diddy, her new best friend, was expressionless.

These pictures are actually more animated than the actual performance! Well, I think we can all agree Britney Spears looks beautiful. She got her body back in shape and has on fishnets without any large holes in them. I can’t stop thinking about how terribly boring her performance was. She had NO energy. 8:45pm - I’m live blogging as I watch the MTV Video Music Awards. I told my husband he needs to handle the two kids until after Britney Spears performs. I am totally excited about this. WHAT IS THIS GIRL GOING TO DO? Sing Live? GASP! No - never happen. BUT, I am sure that she is going to do something wild. Let’s discuss when it happens. 8:50 - Paris Hilton has fans? With screaming people behind her, Paris just told Sway her new clothing line launched at Macy’s and Kitson. Who doesn’t have a clothing line these days? I am actually getting pictures of her shoe line emailed to me this week. Look out for that. Paris wants to see Britney perform… who doesn’t? She is also going to LAX for Diddy’s party once the show is over.
Oh and if you care about the feud between Kayne and 50, Kayne admitted the entire thing is a marketing ploy. He promises he has no beef with anyone.
8:57 - I guess everyone is going blonde these days huh? Doesn’t mean I like it. Nelly Furtado looks a heck of a lot better than yesterday. Mary J. Blige has been going back and forth from light to dark over the years. Nothing new here.
9:00- BRITNEY IS ON!! Close up on the extensions! HA!!! Blue contacts and a bikini… her body looks great. And naturally, she isn’t singing. She isn’t really dancing either. Just walking around the stage calmly lipping the song. I’m looking for pictures!!

Rihanna was the first real celebrity to get interviewed on the red carpet of the MTV Video Music Awards. And you know what question was thrown at her - Where is LaBeouf? She actually looked shocked that Sway would say such a thing and said, “Oh my God! You too? What is wrong with you? I never walk the red carpet with anyone.”
Hmm, now that I wrote out the quote, she doesn’t really DENY the relationship. Does she? Rihanna sorta side stepped the question. HMMMNNN
