Hayden Panettiere's Dooney And Bourke Bag

Hayden Panettiere's handbag for Dooney and Bourke, is now available for the measly price of just $500! The designer's website has a few more details about how the bag came to be.

"What if you had the chance to design the handbag you've always wanted? For Hayden Panettiere, currently starring in NBC's hit show Heroes, it was an exciting opportunity. She began by describing to Peter Dooney just what she envisioned: a large leather shoulder bag with puffy pleats, a buckle closure and great style. The design team made some sketches, then Peter Dooney transformed her ideas into prototypes at Dooney & Bourke's design studio in Florence, Italy. After several revisions and lots of input from Hayden, the limited edition Hayden Bag was born."

What do you think? Does Hayden have a future as a handbag designer or should this be a one time only thing? I do LOVE red bags but $500 is a bit pricey... And I also think having an HP tag hanging off a purse is a little odd, it reminds me of HP computers :)Click on thumbnail to enlarge.

500 on a bag designed by an 18 year old is pushing it. I rather save 400 more and by an LV.

But what strikes me most interesting is that Hayden, whom I think is cute, is very photo-shopped.

for someone who loves animals, that better be fake leather.

That photo does not look like her. The eyebrows are completely different.

Kate- you made me laugh then!
My nana has a bag EXACTLY like that...she got it at Kmart for like 20 bucks!

The bag does look like everything else on the market. And Hayden is totally photoshopped! Her face! Her arm! My God. What is wrong with her natural arms and face? NOTHING! It makes me so mad how the ideal beauty today is to be super skinny.

I agree with the other poster, after coming off of that harrowing event of saving dolphins, it seems a bit odd to be pushing a bag made from animals (if in fact it is real leather).

The bag is bigger than her!

Kay, if you knew anything you would know that when meat is produced they skin from cows raised for food is not used for leather. Rather there are cows raised to slaughter just for their hides.

Diane-
You sound so ignorant. You shoot a comment down from someone in the same breath you make an idiotic comment like that? The point she's making is that Hayden stands as a figure for animal rights to some degree, obviously. So to support and help market a product that comes from an animal, and is the result of SLAUGHTER for ANYTHING is a bit contradictory when you are trying to make a statement in defense of animals. What did you think that animal rights people were trying to fight against all this time??? You think they feel it's ok to slaughter a cow for the hide just because they were "specially" raised for that purpose? Not so much. Cows are also specially raised and left in crates specifically to make veal. That doesn't go over well with animal rights people, so why the hell would raising cows specially to be skinned for a stupid bag be any different? The point is that animals go through torture for the greed of others and their products. For someone who seems to side with the animals, to promote a product that involves skinning an animal is a bit backwards.
