Naomi Watts Joins Tom Hanks For Da Vinci Code Sequel

Naomi Watts has landed a major role along side Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code's sequel, Angels and Demons. I haven't had a chance to read that book and am looking forward to the movie. Whenever I read a book prior to seeing it on the big screen, I am always so critical of the film because they never quite do the piece justice (IMO). Harry Potter much?! :)
Due to the writer's strike, the production of Angels and Demons has been moved back to February.

I have read both books, but have not seen the first movie. It is on my list of movies to watch this winter. I loved the books. Like Jac I liked to up the places on the internet. Also I would look up the symbols like the pentagram. Which is what Tom Hanks character is, he is a symbologist.

My husband LOVED Angels and Demons, even more than the Di Vinci Code. When he first read it he went on and on about it. I cant wait to call him and tell him they are making it into a movie, I know we will be there when it opens!

Angels and Demons is actually NOT the sequel. The DaVinci code is the sequel to Angels and Demons (which is a MUCH, MUCH better story).

Stop! Naomi Watts???!!! The female lead in A&D is a tall Italian. How is she going to pull that one off?

I am looking forward to seeing her in Harry Potter 6.

Mary, thank god you corrected us on this not really being a true sequel, because The Da Vinci Code (the movie) was absolutely terrible and ripped to shreds by critics. I was wondering who in their right minds would do "The Da Vinci Code 2: Return of the ...[etc]".

I think it is a pre-quel. I really enjoyed both books, being an art historian, but some parts of A&D were a little far-fetched, imo. I would love to see it as a movie and see what they do with it.

Angels and Demons was actually the prequel to DaVinci Code, not to mention a much better book.
