Charlize Theron Doesn't Enjoy Being A Celebrity

Charlize Theron has opened up about the ups and downs of working in Hollywood. The Oscar winning actress reveals she doesn't like this new culture of fascination with celebrity and how it's made the simple daily tasks in her life difficult.

"I don't like celebrity. I don't like this whole culture that we're living in now, and I don't like this casual attitude that if you decide to be an actor then your life is up for grabs. "It's just not nice to go and get your groceries and have seven cars following you. I think I am becoming a little bit more closed off because of it."

Charlize also talked about how she's loving this stage in her life.

"I'm 32 and I absolutely love it. I wouldn't want to go back to my twenties in a heartbeat. Life is a big old f***ing mystery, and I'm ready to go and experience it. I don't have all the answers, but it's great to feel that being in my early 30s I have been on the search - we all need to be on that search."

I live in LA, and I see some of these celebs getting hunted like animals. I dont feel bad for the spears/lohan/richie/hilton idiots, since they court the paps like no ones business, but I do feel somwhat bad for the celebs like charlize that just want to act, and are then stalked all day by crazies that want to make money off of them. The paps yell horrible things at them to try and get a reaction. I just think we need to realize that its not just once in a while that this happens, for the A-list actors (not celebutant idiots) this is an hourly occurance.

right bd. There are stars who are actors cause they have huge talent and love to act. not necesserly attention whore like lindsay, britney and too many stars in hollywood.

Wrong. She and others like her are not just actors going about their own business. They parade on red carpets wearing designer dresses worth thousands of dollars, those special little shoes with the red soles that only the uber rich can afford, and jewelry worth more than many homes. They get sucked into the lap of luxury before they realize what is really happening to them. Greed and vanity are their enemies, not the paparazzi.
