Jessica Alba Out And About In Toronto

Monday, November 26th, 2007 at 3:30 pm

Jessica Alba looked exceptionally cheerful when she was spotted out doing a little shopping in Toronto. The site where I got the pictures from says she was out with a friend but I’m thinking that’s her cousin, who we’ve seen her with a few times before. That looks like an Alba mouth for sure!

2007’s Prodigies: Shia LaBeouf

Monday, November 26th, 2007 at 1:33 pm

shia_l.jpg

Shia LaBeouf sat down with Entertainment Weekly and spoke about his recent success, the biggest challenge in the biz and his favorite career moment. No mention about the arrest, but he does bring up Kayne West as his pick for entertainer of the year.

The best part about being so successful at such a young age is…

”I get to meet my heroes. To be in that Indiana Jones clique is insane. These are my superheroes. These are my Batmans, my Robins. And I get to eat lunch with them.”

The biggest challenge…

”All of a sudden, everyone wants to be your pal. I think the hardest thing is deciphering reality from the success, and knowing when to shut down the success of your occupation to be able to enjoy the mundane, everyday life s—. And you get tired of talking about the same things. I’m tired of talking about myself.”

He knew he’d finally made it when…

”That struggle doesn’t end. I don’t think that ever goes away.I think when that goes away, your career’s over. Success only means more pressure: How is your next film going to differ from your last? If you’re not progressing, you’re dying.”

Favorite career moment of the year…

”I think my favorite moment was when Harrison flew in and jumped out of his helicopter to come to rehearsal with his whip in his hand. He wasn’t in Indiana Jones gear. It was just Harrison Ford with his whip, walking to rehearsal.”

Up next…

”I’m getting ready to go to rehearsal [for Eagle Eye, a political thriller]. They’re gearing up the Transformers sequel right now also. But 2007’s opened up doors to where I can really work with people who I really, really dream of working with.”

Shia’s Entertainer of the Year…

”Kanye West. He’s the most electrifying entertainer I’ve seen this year. That Muhammad Ali, funny, cocky type of thing — I haven’t really seen that in a long time. There are never any dull moments. He makes a real effort to make sure that whenever he is on the bill, you know it’s going to be exciting.”

Chris Brown A Victim Of Domestic Violence As A Child

Monday, November 26th, 2007 at 12:25 pm

“I don’t want to mention the person’s name - it wasn’t my real father - but somebody hurt my mom and me, I had to deal with that from seven all the way to 13. It affected me, especially (my behaviour) towards women - I treat them differently. I don’t want to put a woman through the same thing that person put my mom through. I was scared and timid when I was little. I used to pee in my bed… I think it was me being nervous, and scared to get up (out of bed) and see what was going on. My mom used to try and hide it from me and my sister, but we knew. Anybody that’s going through it, just try to deal with it, talk it out.”

Chris Brown

What a terrible thing to have happen to someone. I applaud Chris for being so open about something so personal. Usually the quotes I pick for Quote of the Day are sarcastically funny, but I had to share this with you because I feel it’s a message that needs to get out there. Click here or here for help.

Paris Hilton was photographed leaving a tanning salon wearing this brightly patterned little number. Quite the summer look isn’t it? Then again, I am so used to NY weather. What do you think about her outfit?

Nip/Tuck Gets Steamy

Monday, November 26th, 2007 at 10:30 am

6wmogvt.jpg
Nip/Tuck is about to get even steamier with Joely Richardson and Portia de Rossi heating things up on screen as a lesbian couple. The two actresses talked a little bit about their roles and how playing lesbians affected them.

Portia was worried about being typecast,

“I am a lesbian playing a lesbian” says the blonde actress, “But she’s a different woman than I am, so the most surprising thing is how emotional it’s been for me. My relationship with Ellen is so public, and I thought, ‘Am I going to play a romantic lead again?’ I had that one moment of, ‘Does this mean I’ll be typecast as a lesbian? And Ellen turned to me and said, ‘So what?’ And I thought, ‘Oh, yeah, right, so what?’”

And Joely talked about men’s reactions to the new side of her character,

“I have no problems kissing women. It’s not the first time I have done lesbian scenes. I have heard Ellen was jealous. She has been on set. She is great and Portia is lovely.” The actress added, “I think playing a lesbian turns men on. When my character Julia was the boring, married housewife, always chopping vegetables, people were sweet and lovely. But now I’m playing her as a sexy ***** with a big padded bra and a short skirt, I get a very different reaction. I think men respond to the sexiness of two women being together.”

I had to laugh at that last quote by Joely…she thinks men respond??? So anyways, who has been following the show and what do you think so far?
