Remember these pictures of Jennifer Love Hewitt in a bikini? She received a lot of criticism on blogs for her body and she's mad about it! Jennifer recently posted the following on her website:
"This is the last time I will address this subject.I've sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women's bodies are constantly scrutinized. To set the record straight, I'm not upset for me, but for all of the girls out there that are struggling with their body image.A size 2 is not fat! Nor will it ever be. And being a size 0 doesn't make you beautiful.What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles. I know what I look like, and so do my friends and family. And like all women out there should, I love my body.To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini -- put it on and stay strong.XoxoJLH"

i agree,,,why IS britney considered fat? she really isnt. i would guess she is a size 6 the most. im a size 6 and i have 2 children and dont work out, and brits body is STILL better than mine,lol
I DISAGREE 100% w/the people on this site that have deemed size 8 and above as "fat". Anyone, ANYONE - even a size 2 or 0 - can be flabby and out of shape. Clothing size has nothing to do with body type, height, muscle tone, etc. To make a sweeping assessment like that is insane.
She is not a size 2 (which is a 6 in european sizes). I am a european size 12 (size 8 in American sizes).
She is bigger than me. And with those hips, she could never fit into a size 2. I have big hips too, I cant fit into anything smaller than a 12 (usa size 8). She has put on a bit of weight, so what. We all put on weight as we get older.
im sure she is a size 2....as she also mentioned bad camera angles can be very very unflattering and deceiving in alot of cases.
and good for her for defending herself. im sure all of you would want to if you were in her position.

I AM a size 2 and I LOOK EXACTLY LIKE HER. I wear a 2 or a 0 and I have big hips and a large buttom. When I saw her pictures I thought - wow - that looks just like my body. Just like Jennifer, I look very thin in clothes but in a bikini you can see I am heavier on bottom. The only way to lose that curvy chunky bottom for me is to starve. Working out and eating healthy does NOT help some one who already is this small. Once you are alrady small you must starve to lose weight. It sucks!
I am so happy she spoke up and said something. I am a tv personality too (not very famous - just small tv things and reality tv) so know how hard it can be to hear constant comments about your looks, personality...etc. Jennifer Love looks great and I am proud of her for telling it like it is.

I am not a size 2 either. I am either a 4 or a 5, depending on how the clothing is cut. However, I keep myself in much better shape than Ms. Hewitt. And I would encourage others to keep themselves in shape as well.
Ms. Hewitt is clearly no example for young women. It is OK to be of proper weight. There is fat, there is skinny, and there is the good old 5 lbs. per inch above 5 feet tall. I think she far surpasses that. What a sad state for insurance costs.

People should lay off the word fat. the word and articles written about others who are nowhere near being fat since these articles create negative body images for young minds. I have friends who are constantly obsessed with weight because of these images. For that reason alone these articles should be banned from the media. We have all seen the results by how many people have eating disorders now.

Ok, Jennifer is NOT fat but she is definitely NOT a size 2! I am so over all these weight issues that are portrayed in the media. I find some beauty magazines to be hypocritical when they publish articles on "loving your own body" etc etc....and then the next month they focus on a celebrity with a healthy body weight and mark her as fat!
Who really cares....We all need to focus on our own lives and stop making it harder for others.

I completely agree with #54. I am also a size 2, have a pear body shape, and look simlar to JLH. I admire the fact that she handled herself so well. She is a positive role model for young girls out there with a negative perception of body image. Good for her.

I agree with everyone who says she’s misrepresenting, especially the one who said something to the effect of “Add a 1 front of that size 2, and that’s reality.†The problem is not her defending herself, but that denial is something else. Why further the disservice to women by denying the size? Seems the size 2 for the bottom may have been a decade ago.
But the worst disservice to all women is the media’s manipulatation of women’s images. It’s doubtful that there’s a celebrity in print who hasn’t either been photoshopped, airbrushed, and/or surgically altered. Jamie Lee Curtis did the best service to women in her expose of the industry where she revealed what she really looked like - the true “before†and then “after†the media butchered her real self with all the bells and whistles crap. Now there goes a real hero! And of course, there’s the Faith Hill/Redbook fiasco. Those magazine editors themselves must have horrible self-image problems up the ying-yang as they perpetuate the problem, but that’s another story!
However, celebrities rely on their image since that’s their moneymaker, hence celebrity status, so they do have a responsibility re their image. But if they use artificial means (as said above) to enhance their image and pimp out that image, claiming they just “naturally look that way,†but then look like dogmeat in real life and get publicly kicked in the teeth by reality, they can’t cry to anyone, especially if they can’t be real about their flaws.
Besides, celebrities – of all people – should know how to dress for their figure flaws and should know by now that not everyone can wear a bikini and/or other fashion styles in public and get away with looking good without help – professionally applied makeup, stylists, photoshop editing, special lighting, and all the usual suspects.
And “bad†photo angles are realistic angles – e.g. dead straight on, unposed, unforewarned, candid, nonstudio, no special lighting or makeup, and/or no help from photoshop
In my opinion is seems (from a laymans point of view) that a really hot chick makes her way into the spot light, and with in a really short amount of time she ends up looking like a 12 year old boy. well im a guy that has read a book and trusts my own mind, and i like a woman with curves (enough to change a woman from a girl) and what ive seen of Jen Hewitt shes all woman. However i have to ask to all the men out there, who is behind the look of Hollywood? If certain people want you to be attracted to girls that looks like a 12 year old boy, it seens like a 1st step to convince you into being attracted to Man tackel!!!

I am a teacher who constantly deals with teenagers with eating disorders. They need to see that celebrities are people too. Girls constantly strive to attain the thinnest body possible because that is what they see in movies, music videos, tv and magazines.

It makes me sad and angry at the same time to see quotes like ' I am a size zero and perfect' and 'Jello hanging out everywhere'. Jennifer is stunning, perfect boobs and fabulous face and is still so thin, but if anything she looks even hotter now. If people were writing offensive critical things about any of us in the papers i know how upset id be but to see you ppl saying ur perfect and nicer than her really annoys me, shes a stunner and should be allowed live her life happily in love not slowly developing an eating disorder because of comments like these.
