His attorney came out with a statement saying that Keifer will do the full 48 days straight without early release unless a judge orders something different.
"He's not happy to be here," Officer John Balian says, "but you can tell from his demeanor that he's sorry and takes responsibility for what's he's done."
Sutherland spent his first full day on Thursday folding jail laundry. He also had cornflakes for breakfast, a turkey sandwich for lunch and chicken a la king for dinner.
The 24 actor, who is housed alone in a cell, has also been assigned to serve meals to the other eight to 10 inmates, one of whom was recently arrested for attempted murder - “ on four people.

I know. The last thing you want is to be in a relationship with an alcoholic, but I will tell you this much: I would do it for him.

People, he has had THREE other DUI convictions. The first 2 were a long time ago but the third was only back in 2004. That is why they are not letting him out. I feel he truly deserves to serve the full 48 days. As they say, anyone who gets CAUGHT drunk driving has driven drunk MANY other times and just did not get caught. Maybe this will finally get him to sort out his drinking problem - and I do think it gotten him to face his problem.
