John Mayer Sticks Up For Jessica Simpson
What a nice guy!! John Mayer used his personal blog to stand up for Jessica Simpson as the entire state of Texas blames her for the Cowboys' football defeat . He even mentions at the end that he knows the press will pick it up and possibly twist it into something negative. Why would anyone do that? I think it is so great of him to do this because you know she is stressing out a bit about all the commotion. Here is the message:

Dear Dallas and Surrounding Areas,
This isn't a sports blog, and it isn't a publicity stunt. (but have at me if it feels right.)
This is about doing what I think is right as a person, in this case speaking my mind.
I have never known anyone to have more pride in their home state and their upbringing in it than Jessica Simpson has in Texas. I don't really follow sports, but I have played some of my biggest and best concerts in your state, and having witnessed how dynamic the spirit there is, I'm betting emotions are running high right about now.
All witty barbs, blogs, and fashion policing aside, that girl loves Texas more than you know. It's one of her most defining traits as a person. So please don't try and take that away from her. (You probably wouldn't be able to, but it's less work for all involved.)
I just thought it would mean something coming from the guy who has the absolute least to gain from this. And if I'm out of line in having written it, too bad. I can spare a Wednesday's worth of bad press if it means sticking up for a good soul.

I may not be a big fan of hers but come on I do not understand how this can be her fault. Love John for sticking up for her. I would be so upset if the place I grew up in was attacking me for something that is totally not my fault. Thanks John for being a better person than those out there and sticking up for her. She deserves better than she is getting.
I wonder how much he got paid from the Simpson camp to write that. It must have been a lot.
Oh, forgot to say: I love John Mayer! What a sweetie.

That was very noble of John. Jess needs to stay out the limelight, be there for Tony and soothe his broken ego, and reinvent herself. I mean what has she done lately?
That was quite an honourable thing for him to do.

^J.S. sorry to burst your bubble, but any project Jessica has touched recently has tanked (ie: album, straight-to-video movies). I think her shoe line is making money, but the only thing that keeps her on pop culture radar is her love life.
