Ok, so my next door neighbor emailed me and said WPIX (Channel 11 in NYC) just announced that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are engaged. The best I can do online is finding Us Weekly saying a friend said they were going to get married and the National Enquirer predicting the same. It isn’t 9 yet, so perhaps People hasn’t gotten around to the update. Let’s keep our eyes peeled. Either WPIX is wrong or the Internet is slow on this one.
Update: More info is coming in. Now Us Weekly has a quote from Nick Lachey reacting to the rumor.
“I wish her nothing but happiness. If she’s found that… good for her.”
Update 2: Zaoli (commenter below) made a very good point. I recently wrote up a post about Papa Joe saying Jessica was going to do another reality show. Wouldn’t it be NUTS if it was another Newlyweds?
Another Newlyweds would be so bad! I though the first one was bad enough. I really think that Nick fared much better after their divorce, so maybe she thinks she needs this kind of publicity.
But more importantly, WTF is she wearing? Okay, no makup is fine… but an old black t-shirt and a the super fake fur vest???

I would not be surprised if they were engaged. With the exception of Nick; Jessica does not do well in the men department. John Mayer used her as a convenient booty call. And now the first famous guy that proposes to her; she accepts.

Sidney, when the f*ck did John Mayer used her for convenient booty call? She was his girlfriend for almost a year! That’s the longest period among his celebrity girlfriends! He dumped Minka Kelly and Jennifer Love Hewitt after 2 months. That’s even worse! And by reading his Texas blog defending Jessica obviously shows he still cares for her until now. Even when he knew he would be criticised badly for that blog!

Good for them, this poor girl receives such severe Criticism, I wish the best for them if it is true that they are getting married.
The actions of her father, have nothing to do with her, remember that we all have "that relative" we would prefer not to be associated with.
