Charlize Theron Is Officially A U.S. Citizen

Congratulations, Charlize Theron officially has her U.S. citizenship! She talked about the process the other day on the David Letterman Show.

"I've always wanted to be one; they just didn't want to take me. You're stuck with me now! It's quite a process - you have to work hard, you have to study up. You have to know your stuff; you've got to know your senators... They give you a test."

I've heard that the process to become a citizen is absolutely insane. For some people it can take 10 years. Maybe Charlize was fast tracked since she's a celebrity. it took me only 5 years to become a citizen, but i moved to the states when i was 13 and my parents have a lot of support from their jobs so that probably helped. I thought the test was really easy, but i had the benefit of going to HS in the states.

to Amanda: I agree with you. Recent studies have asked H.S students very simple History and geography questions and its sad that most of them had no idea of their own history much less world history.
You can see the ignorance all over, other countries do a better job with education.
