Heidi Montag Is A Feminist Hero

First of all, check out the random paparazzi following Lauren Conrad in this picture. LOVE it! Anyways...while we're on the subject of girls from The Hills....the New York Times says that Heidi Montag is a feminist hero....yes, you really did read that right. In their review of most recent season of the show a critic wrote the following:
"Defying our expectations, Heidi Montag has emerged as a kind of feminist hero. Her groundswell of self-assertion begins when [beau Spencer Pratt] insists on eloping, prompting Heidi to declare, 'This isn't, like, Spencer's relationship and you decide what we do. The full-on joyous Oprah-fication of Heidi culminates with the show's return and gives The Hills a new momentum. After taking a break from Spencer at her parents' modest house in Crested Butte, Colorado, Heidi returns to Los Angeles to kick him out and chastises him for taking her flat-screen TV with him."
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. What do you think about this?

i actually really like heidi montag...i do think she is a good woman role model in some ways. i read an article that she was interviewed in recently, and honestly really was surprised at how much i related to her. it was about spencer allegedly cheating on her...and she was saying that their views on cheating differed...she thinks cheating is exchanging numbers and expecting to meet up. i love that she made it that simple. most bitches would be too scared to admit that even something that small is cheating, period. so i liked that. and regardless, they are still together, and she has always included the love of her life in her fame. any woman who thinks love is her whole world is a hero in my book....i love women who stand by their men and dont try to act so independent! love is cute. she is my feminist hero for that reason :D

How low have we sunk when a fake celebrity with fake boobs, fake nose, fake teeth, fake hair and even a fake job is considered a feminist? Clearly times are not what they used to be. Note to self.... make sure to show my daughter a picture of this beach bottle blond and tell her this is what NOT to become in life!!!
KAt~sorry that we dont sweat Heidi and obsess about her like you seem to do. Heidi is no one to look up to. She is FAKE!!! Sorry to burst your bubble but the Hills is pretty much all fake!! You probably record every episode and collect clippings on Heidi from magazine and stare at her. I bet you are considering plastic surgery to look like her. All Heidid is is a fake little girl not a real woman!!!!
Lets see Heidi a feminist~she dropped all of her friends for a man, she has been isolated and only hung out with her twin lookalike Spencer. Gee if droppping your friends for a man and then going behind friends back and starting rumors and coming home when Spencer says and doind whatever Spencer says~Gee if thats not feminism I dont know what is!
