Who Asks This?!

Teri Hatcher has said she feels bad being divorced because people question how it affects her daughter when she is in social settings. WHO WOULD ASK THAT?! First of all, sad as it may be - this isn't the 1800s. Divorce is pretty common these days and I would think that people are a bit more sensitive to the situation. But alas, there are people still out there who feel it is their business to make an uncomfortable situation worse by asking very personal questions that quite frankly aren't their business.
"It comes up with other school moms. You know, we talk. I'll get asked stuff, like, "Is it difficult for her?' I feel horrible about being divorced. That's her life also and it's not great, having to go back and forth from her dad's.  So I think when you have situations that sort of just are - you can't change that I'm famous - then it's really your job to concentrate on how to make this work in a positive way. We have a little rule: I don't really have pictures taken with people when I'm with her."

Is it difficult for her? No she LOVES it! She couldn't be happier. Thank GOODNESS this has happened to our family...

I would totally be sarcastic, like your last line. that would stop the person from EVER asking an inappropriate question like that again.

Im the minority here. I could totally see saying that comment ( Oh it must be difficult for her to have to go back and forth between homes etc ) to someone that I was talking with. It would be part of the conversation especially if you were talking about the divorce at the time.
