Demi Uses Leeches To Stay Young

I heard this the other day and I don't know why I didn't put it up sooner. This is something that needs to be heard. It. Is. Crazy. Demi Moore puts leeches on her body. Yes, willingly. Supposedly it helps her stay so fresh faced! But seriously, you could NOT PAY ME to try this beauty remedy!!! Here is the 45 year old actress leaving Good Morning America. Judge for yourself...is it working?!? Demi talked about the treatment, saying the leeches are placed in your belly button.
"You feel [them] bite down on you, and you want to go, 'You bastard!' and then you relax and watch it swell up. They have a little enzyme that when they are biting down in you, it gets released in your blood and generally you bleed for quite a bit - “ and your health is optimized. It detoxifies your blood - “ I'm feeling very detoxified right now."
Have you ever tried anything this extreme in the name of looking good?

I never heard of leeches being used for this purpose but my husband is a surgeon and in some hospitals they use leeches for open wound infections. they work much better then antibiotics -only eating the effected part of the skin and not compromiseing the amune system. It is VERY common in Europe.. in the US its not as common but University hospitals do have leeches for this purpose.

Blood-letting comes to mind... an ancient device used to rid demons from a person experiencing a myriad of psychological disorders. Wow. Seems to me that donating blood would give her the same feeling. What can a leech offer?
michele darn good point. I heard the sound bite of her talking about it but never thought it could be fake. Good call. dcb, she said something about the enzymes.
Her face lift must be cutting off the blood supply to her brain.
This is unlikely to be true, but even still, may I recommend going to the Red Cross and just donating a pint of blood every now and then instead.

The whole idea of a product that detoxifies that blood is just stupid, and anyone who believes it is stupid for not thinking for themselves. Imagine what a product or technique that would remove the toxins from your body could actually do. Why go to a doctor or get medication when you could just use some detoxifier and cure it all.
leeches help to detoxify?? HUH? but sure, i heard of doctors using these slimy little creatures for surgical purposes (prevent blood clotting i think). for detoxification? its ridiculous. anyway, celebrities will do anything to enhance their LOOKS!
