Mischa Barton Takes A Plea Deal In DUI Case

Mischa Barton will not end up serving any jail time for her DUI. She'll plead no contest which means and will accept the terms of the plea bargain...a three-year unsupervised probation term. People magazine is reporting the following,
Barton will also be sentenced to a three-month alcohol-education class, and pay a fine of approximately $1,700. In addition, a marijuana possession charge against the actress will be dropped, due to the small amount found. Another charge of driving without a license will be reduced to an infraction, according to the source.

Supposedly this is a normal sentence for people who are first time offenders. What's your take on the whole thing?

It is absolutely ridiculous that DUI is practically just accepted in 2008. Slap on the wrist, go on about your business. No big deal.

IMHO it is a crime of pure arrogance. You think you have the right to endanger my life and the lives of my family and others? It is just insane. Esp. when you know celebs have enough money to call a freaking driver!!!!

A friend of mine who got a DUI in Michigan after it was all said and done must of cost her over $15,000. What a joke. I suppose she should have been pulled over in Cal instead. Or have been a never was Z list celebrity.
