It's a battle of he said, she said. This time we have Blender versus
Alicia Keys. News recently came out that Alicia supposedly told
Blender that she thought "'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other," and that
Tupac and
Biggie were assassinated as part of the government's plot "to stop another great black leader from existing." Well, now Alicia is backtracking on all that. She released a statement saying,
"My comments about "gangsta rap' were in no way trying to suggest that the government is responsible for creating this genre of rap music. The point that I was trying to make was that the term was oversloganized by some of the media causing reactions that were not always positive. Many of the "gangsta rap' lyrics articulate the problems of the artists' experiences and I think all of us, including our leaders, could be doing more to address these problems including drugs, gang violence, crime, and other related social issues."
Blender is standing by their original article. Who do you believe? I'm going to go with Alicia on this one. We all know that the press has a way of taking people's words out of context or twisting them to try and get a more scandalous story. Am I right?

I agree with anonymous. Its unfortunate that people can not look within themselves (in this case their own people) and realize that the problems just may lie within. Blaming others and contriving conspiracy theories will do nothing to solve their problems.
I am going to have to believe her on this one. She has a point about the term "gangsta rap" being over used in the media. My Grandma, who has never listened to rap in her life, knows the term from the news.
i just dont think she likes rap music....but i still think the media is lying..but they can do that cuz there r sum gullible people in this world that will believe wat anybody puts out
U R right!
*threat of lawsuit.
Friendsfirst, when you get over your hysterics, keep in mind that many offspring of mixed parents have made racist comments. They feel that they are picked on even more than a white person, black person, etc.
Im going with Blender on this one lol As soon as I read that comment days ago I couldnt wait to see how she was going to try to get outta this one. You just KNEW the **** was gonna hit the proverbial fan.
Damage control. Blender has a pretty reliable reputation.
she looks bad with those pants!!
her legs are toooooo fat!!
ewww
Are those stunt thighs or her real ones?
To all the stupid mother****ers that have posted on this site about Alicia Keys,,,,
FEED THE HOMELESS, HELP ABUSED KIDS, VISIT THE ELDERLY ETC...
ALICIA IS ALREADY RICH, YOUR STUPID RANTS AND NOT BUYING HER MUSIC WILL NOT CHANGE THAT FACT.
NOT A RACIST!!
I believe that this is the blenders way of creating a smear campaign against Alicia. I feel she was being targeted because she tends to stay out of trouble while most celebrites stay in trouble. Not only that, she just released an album and this LIE could stop it from selling. I am bi racial and so is Alicia so there is no way you can declare a bi racial person racist for the fact that somewhere along her bloodlines she would be offending herself. Alicia isn’t the type of character to attack people like that and I think the haters that did this have a cold black heart for targeting a woman so pure. I mean, just by what you see and you don’t see, this woman was a philantropist, and she helps people and everything, it’s sad the The Blender would attempt something like this. If they ruin anything for Alicia, they will get a does of Karma. Like Alicia said in the song Karma “What goes around comes around!†so the blender will get theres in the end.
After spanking and talking too from Clive Davis, who probably threatned to cancel her contract, she did what she was told to do.
Her reputation is in shreds now, and this will affect her career.
If you read Blender interview, they quoted what she said verbatim. She is sorry now, but she should have never publicly stated such racist comments.
