I got a little teary watching this clip of Heidi Montag talk about the death of her stepbrother. I never connected with Heidi's character (yes, I say character even though it's a reality show) because of the whole Lauren Conrad feud, but this is so beyond that. This is on a much more human level and I sympathize tremendously. Truth be told, it's a side that isn't part of her character on The Hills and I wish this honesty was. On a personal note, a friend of mine died two days ago from taking diet pills. He was 31 years old and a WONDERFUL person. Unfortunately, he struggled with his weight and used the pills to help speed along the dieting process. He passed from a heart attack in his sleep. Tragic. The worst thing about the story (obviously besides the loss) is my friend survived a TERRIBLE elevator accident a few years ago. Fell down several flights after elevator went out of control, permanently was in rehab to help with walking, in pain constantly - but lucky to be alive. To die from dieting just seems unfair. Going to the wake today.
Truly sorry about your friend.
