I just received this email from an INO reader who wanted to share some positive news about Miley Cyrus and I thought it was fitting in the sea of negativity that is surrounding her these days.

Last Feb. my friend’s daughter had the 3rd of 3 open heart surgeries she’s had since she was born 11 years ago. After the last surgery my friend said, “She was very depressed for many days, (this happened last time too). Anyway, as some of you know, she is a big fan of Miley Cyrus (AKA Hannah Montana) and she just happened to be in Las Vegas for the weekend doing a concert tour. As luck would have it, she made a surprise visit to the hospital on Sunday (20th). …and after her dad talked to many people who knew people, who knew people, a visit was arranged. You can’t imagine the difference it made. From that point on, [her] depression was GONE. She has had a blast telling all her friends she met Miley Cyrus, and she has photos also that will give her a smile for many years to come. The fun thing is that all our kids got to meet her and get a picture with her.”

Not funny. This is most certainly the darkest part of being a celebrity. Kate Hudson was lucky enough to have a man who was obsessed with her get arrested before he did any serious damage. According to the Boston Herald,

Neil Bergman, 44, of Whitefield, N.H., was arraigned on burglary charges in Boston Municipal Court the other day and was packed off for a 30-day mental evaluation, the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office confirmed to the Track. Other sources report that after Bergman was apprehended, he allegedly ranted to cops about Hudson and her mother, actress Goldie Hawn.

“This suspect made statements to the arresting officers that indicated the individual had an unhealthy interest in Kate Hudson,” Boston police spokesgal Elaine Driscoll told the Track. “As a matter of caution, we alerted her security.”

To make sure that Kate was safe, her bodyguards were put on high alert and even supplied with a picture of Neil should he attempt to make contact in the near future.

Kate’s muscle, who shadow her while she’s in Boston filming the comedy “Bride Wars” with Anne Hathaway, have a photo of Bergman and have been on high alert, we’re told.

When arrested, police found two axes, computer equipment, a copper weather vane, outdoor flower pots, an Elvis plate, a Christmas tree and lots of women’s clothing in Neil’s car.

I love Sarah Silverman, even more ever since the infamous Matt Damon video She’s the most recent in a long line of celebrities to say she won’t get married. Sarah spoke recently with People about her relationship with Jimmy Kimmel. The two comedians have been together for five years but have no plans to walk down the alter anytime soon, or ever, for that matter.

“I’ll be honest, we have it good. I don’t want the government involved in our love. When my friends get married I think it’s romantic, I cry, whatever. But it’s not for me.”

They do want kids, however.

“I might adopt, but we’re going to wait. If you’re going to have kids, you need to have time to give them undivided attention.”

She also mentioned that she’s nervous to attend her fitting for her outfit for the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala. Her gown is going to be by Dolce and Gabana.

“Who knows if they’ll have my size!” she jokes. “I’m a size eight – that’s fat in the fashion world!”

What do you think about the whole not getting married trend in Hollywood? I think it’s a lot easier for a celebrity to be able to do that because unlike people in the real world, they don’t have to worry about insurance coverage for their significant other and marriage related financial issues.
