Let's Post Some Positive News About Miley Cyrus

Last Feb. my friend's daughter had the 3rd of 3 open heart surgeries she's had since she was born 11 years ago. After the last surgery my friend said, "She was very depressed for many days, (this happened last time too). Anyway, as some of you know, she is a big fan of Miley Cyrus (AKA Hannah Montana) and she just happened to be in Las Vegas for the weekend doing a concert tour. As luck would have it, she made a surprise visit to the hospital on Sunday (20th). ...and after her dad talked to many people who knew people, who knew people, a visit was arranged. You can't imagine the difference it made. From that point on, [her] depression was GONE. She has had a blast telling all her friends she met Miley Cyrus, and she has photos also that will give her a smile for many years to come. The fun thing is that all our kids got to meet her and get a picture with her."

That is so sweet. I don't know why people are down on Miley. They should be down on her stupid parents. Have they no clue as to what a treasure their daughter is? They need to protect her, not expose her.
oh god, he makes me sick and still creeps me out! he comes across as totally fake, and he never directly answers any of o's questions.
katie is still a robot. the first 10 minutes of the 3 of them greeting each other and oohing and aahing was so FAKE! you can tell that this is just a publicity stunt to try to get fans back, but it's so pathetically obvious it won't work.

That's really sweet of Miley. I didn't see the big deal with the photo shoot. If this were in Europe, nobody would be talking about it. Maybe I just need to accept that that's the way Americans are. Anyway, I hope Miley will grow up to become a mature, responsible adult. It looks like she's having a lot of fun with her success and I wish her nothing but the best.
That photo shoot was not Miley's fault...it was the fault of her parents and/or handlers. I think Miley seems like a pretty sweet and down to earth person. Plus, I really can't handle people hacking on a 15-year-old girl. It's not like she's 26 years old like Britney or something.

anohter celebrity doing rounds of proverbial/mandatory goody two shoes thing/volunteering/community service for one sake only--their image after a **** storm. It gets to be so annoying. I am all for doing great things and helping those in need, but NOT doing it for the publicity, especially after a fiasco of some sort. So fake.
THis is why I love this site, it's not too negative! The girl is only 15, people expect way too much of her - she seems sweet and completely normal for her age.
i dissagree with you #11, its not like we would of heard about this story if it hadnt been emailed to vera. if she didnt want to do it she wouldnt of bothered staying and having pictures taken with all of them, she is human too, all she did was have some photos taken, big deal, i think everyone went abit over the top.

Any celebrity, escpecially ones who influences children (and they are the future) and making millions should be put through a microscope. If it is not desirable, then a child celbrity in particular needs to step out of a lime light. Their actions have an effect on growing generations.
Regarding photos. People say big deal iti s just her back she is showing. I think #13 you are probably a bright individual and artistic pictures done by a famous Anne Leibovitz would not be about ''just an open back''. I think Anne Leibovitz will be insulted by you since she sees herself as an artist of high caliber. This picture is clearly about Miley;s sexuality. Arched back, slightly open red lips, messy long hair, a sheet covering naked body, seductive eyes, a turn of a neck. A turn of a neck and slightly parted lips are the biggest sexuality pointers-check the research for yourself. This is the stuff of dream for pedophiles.
15 year old gilr has not business being photographed in this Lolita pose. This is for a woman, who is someone's muse or a courtisan. Then I find it acceptable. Imagine yourself a mom and finding a photo of your daughter in this pose.
Yet I saw another photo recently with Miley almost laying or hunched over her dad's legs. I mean, I do not know they look like a couple there in love, not dad and daughter.
Anyone who finds this picture acceptable should really check their head. Let me reassure you that I am not a prude and love art . But this is not about Miley. It is about stepping in a wrong direction. Let her grow and if she wants to pose naked in Playboy I have no problems with that. I also understood that parents were trying to make a transition for her from child star to a full blown mass star. But I think that in a process they lost any decency and became greedy. And greediness, my friend, is one of the worst offences in my book, as should be in yours.
check this photo out. I mean do you really think this is a photo of fahter and daughter????? This is a photo of a couple in love. This is what the photo is implying. Why not have a photo with her dad and monm standing together and then Mily with them??? Then it will look like a family shot. This looks like a romantic couple shot. I do not know of any girl or a woman for that matter who would have a shot with a dad with her head pretty close to his groin. Very distasteful to say the least.

To say people expect too much and that she is "just" a little girl are overlooking that Disney and Miley herself have put her out there as THE role model for all tween girls for this generation. Miley has generated tens of millions of dollars and it costs thousands per ticket for parents to get their little girls into one of her concerts. If she is going to become that kind of public icon, yes, people are going to hold you to a high standard.
Miley cannot shut up about what a great servent of Jesus she is. And yet a week doesn't go by with photos of her ****ting around with friends, guys or her dad. People get a little put out when you use the Lord's name to make yourself rich and then live out in the open like a playboy bunny in training.
The photos with her dad not only are wildly innappropriate, they are actually far more offensive than the naked back photo. Sadly, these are not the first picture that reflect a very active romantic and sensual relationships going on between father and daughter. Is that the kind of message you want the #1 role model for all teen girls to follow? How daddy cyrus stays out of jail for not molesting his daughter is beyond me.

The scariest thing about this entire thread is not Miley, her dad, or their relationship. It's the fact that many of the posters cannot read or write English. Melanie's entire posts are complete gibberish. This isn't texting, dear. We use the word "you," not "u" when posting on a blog. Elina, you might have some good points, but I can't wade through all the grammatical errors to find them.
Love her, she's warm and caring. She's a very giving person.
It strikes me that there is something much more disturbing about people who see pics of Miley and her father and ENVISION something sexual in them. That is YOU projecting something sexual into a relationship you know nothing about, regarding people you don't know at all.
Perhaps those who are so deeply offended by Miley's pictures (alone or with her father) have to ask themselves why it's so offensive to them? Miley isn't out there doing drugs or going to clubs and getting pulled over for DUI. She isn't pregnant, isn't "out of control" (aka Britney), seems to be happy, confident and close to her parents, siblings, and friends.
Nevertheless, she is a girl on the verge of womanhood. That is what Lebowitz was picturing. Both innocent and sensual, walking that line between child and woman.
Americans are such a puzzle--if there had been a picture in a tabloid of Miley wearing a bikini on a beach, (revealing 90% of her body) that would have been fine. But showing her bare back in a photo session (attended by her parents) THAT is shocking to you??
It is one thing to take a photo with the open back and have it in your photo book. Some people have portraits of their babies without clothing . But these photos and portraits are not sold to the media to be put on the covers on magazines. Here we are talking about selling a photo of a girl posing with the sheet and naked , and besides having sexual connotations, no matter how subtle, it is sold for public enjoyment for money. These types of photos slowly chipping away from the fact that children should NOT be idolized, exploited, viewed as sexual objects. Little by little you see more and more and it becomes more acceptable.
I definitelly not for the religious dogmas here, and I am not really a conservative. I am just a responsible adult who has a sense of right and wrong. What happended to children being children? Disney and Hollywood exploit children for money by giving them a piece of the pie as well. The whole Disney machine needs to revert back to 50-60ies. Why cant there be a balance???? Why do we have to accept pregnant girls on Disney channel/strange pushing the limit photos of Miley?? Child stars must stop making gazillions of dollars, unlike adults, and start signing 20,000, 30,000, 50,000 contracts per movie. This will keep a desire to prostitute children down for parents and companies. These children will still be wayyyyy ahead of their counterparts but with much less money to keep them grounded. Children do not need to be making 1,000,000. They will be cmfortable making much less. No one is imposing a cap on their earnings once they are 18.
Miley had very convenient name change because her parents are in a process of transforming her for more adult oriented audience. We are moving away from Hannan Montana and now we are just hearing Miley . But what about the children who she hooked with her acts?? Now they will want to follow in her steps, only they do not make millions. So pole dancing will become more acceptable just so that they can bare their backs as well. Lets start teaching girls, math, science, love, and beauty and stop little by little make it acceptable to whore them out.

there is a differnce between Angelina Jolie at 16 and Miley. Angelina was not Disney's examplary girl. She was always crazy a bit and had an appeal with certain group of people, In fact, Angelina was not a popular kid by her own admission.
Miley is just the opposite.
This next comment is not about Miley but in general. The more woman is a whore (not a prostitute, there is a differece) the more nice she wants to appear in public, she will even be a girl that your mom loves, ahhh such a wholesome beauty. You'd never know while still a virgin vaginally she has been having oral and anal sex. But they like to play that ''sweet'' character.
