Nick Cannon's Family Confirms Mariah Carey Wedding

Mimi is going to have a fit when she hears this one! Nick Cannon's relative has confirmed that he married Mariah Carey and says she's happy for him "if that is what he wants". It sounds to me that the family was surprised by the news as well.
Mariah is 39 and Nick is 27. Do you think that is going to have an impact on their relationship? I think in a non-celebrity relationship the answer would be yes. But is Mariah your typical 39 year old? And doesn't the industry age people ahead of their time making Nick not your average 27 year old? Age is just a number right?
Mimi is going to have a fit when she hears this one! Nick Cannon's relative has confirmed that he married Mariah Carey and says she's happy for him "if that is what he wants". It sounds to me that the family was surprised by the news as well.
"Yes, we know. He called us and told us all about it," she said. "We are happy for him. If that is what he wants, then we are happy for him." She added, "I'm not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him."

Age actually just a number. I know guys my age who still act like immature teenagers! It's all about how you connect emotionally with each other. Age gap relationships aren't for everybody, but I know plenty of people with large age gaps who make it work!
As for Mariah and Nick, it's a bit of an odd couple [not because of the age, I just found it so random] But if they're happy together, then who are we to judge that? =)
Wait -- she's 39? Aside from her attitude, she looks REALLY great for her age. I thought she was more like 33....wow.
Hmm...Mariah and Nick Cannon -- weird couple, and I only give it a year, but I'm happy for them while it lasts.

Why would you think that just because someone is not in the industry that a relationship would not work because the female is older than the male? I am 10 years older than my husband (38 and 28), and couldn't be happier. Maybe in the beginning it was weird to people, but not any longer. We are happy! That is all that matters.

Why is it ok for a man to be way older than the women but not vice versa....look at michael douglas and catherine zeta jones they are 25 years apart! Plus Mariah isnt 39...shes 38! BIG difference haha. I don't like her being with him for some reason...maybe bc he seems young and immature, but then I dont know him, but whatever makes them happy I guess. I just thought she would never get married again.
I also am in an 11 year age difference relationship...I don't understand why this is such an issue if you're not in the business. I am happier than I've been.

Mariah is 38, she was born in March 1970, she has the same birthday as me, but I am younger!!
Anyway, I'm not sure I believe this story. Who would marry MC anyway? She would be too high maintenance.
I am more surprised because I have noooooo idea who this guy is. Plus what guy in his right mind would want to marry Mimi? Can you imagine if he said no to her and she didnt get her own way? Mariah and her antics are becoming sickening. She needs to go take a seat in somebody's corner and stay there for awhile... or at least until her mentality catches up with her age. Her childish style of dressing to her inappropriate over the top so-called photo ops by the razzi has me wishing she stayed with her first husband; her image is such a joke now. Yeah the man might have seemed controlling but at least her image was of someone I can respect.
And Nick Cannon, oh please that boy...oh excuse me, that man is a CORN BALL. He needs to find his way back to Nickelodeon, which suited him perfect

Shame on you, Vera! Do you believe the same is true if the genders are reversed? I don't think it is age that matters so much as individual people. My hubby and I have a 12 year age difference and it is not evident in either appearances or behaviour. I don't try to dress younger and he doesn't try to up his age. It just happens to be the way things are. And we have been happily together for almost 15 years. Oh, and we aren't celebs, either. *sigh*
Nobody would think twice about the age difference if it were the other way around.
I think it is a good match.
He is weird. He was engaged to Selita Ebanks after only four months of dating. They only ended their engagement last Oct. and now he's already married to Mariah Carey. It will never last.
It doesn't matter if you are in the industry or not, it all depends on the people involved. Women live longer than men by an average of 7-8 years so with that being said, they could be better off if they stay together for the long haul.

Ok here is the thing people some age differences do matter .I say this because my mother remarried a younger man he was 27 like our pal Nick here and my Mom was 38 . Here is the problems I witnessed as a result of this union 1) Priorities change as the woman gets older and he will still be young there may be lots of things he wants to experience and she may be more settled even though for awhile
it may not seem that way but rest assured that is usually the case.
Also I think this young man is living out a school boy crush.
Besides the physical he has the most to gain out of this ,fame , Mimi's bank account.
Watch the next headlines will read " Mariah 's Got a Canon in her Belly" ( & its twins). She must have been off her meds.
I give it a year if she does not get pregers 2yrs if she does.

Ugly? Well I think Nick looks alot like Mariah's late father when he was young. A beautiful tan color which is apart of what Mariah is. lol
Age is definitely just a number, I am 9 years older than my man and things are just great between us. You have to just find the right person for you. We cannot judge them on their choices, all we can do it accept it and let them live their lives. Noone knows what is going on between them except them, and maybe their lawyers...lol. If they are truly in love then the best of luck to them. If it turns out that they only thought they were in love, then so be it. Just another failed marriage in this crazy world of ours. Everyone deserves happiness and it is not someone else's decision on who makes us happy.

Congrats Mariah & Nick! I'm sure you've accomplished in breaking many guys' hearts with this news including my buddy Erick Martinez of Concord. We used to listen to your music on the way to San Francisco to set the mood for a night of drinking Cisco Malt Liquor (yuk!...but it was cheap) and spending the evening as a couple at strip clubs. This was back in the "#1's" release day. He was only interested in the hot ladies that had some kind of resemblance to you! Thanks for the good times then and now!
Nothing is wrong with the age I mean look at Jay Z and Beyonce' he's 38 and she is 26
I hope Nick and Mariah make it last forever! I'm 7 year's older than my husband and we've been together for 15 years.
Nick is an actor and I'm sure a lot of his silliness is because that's what the jobs calls for. Women love to laugh. I'm sure Mariah has enough sense to know who she wants to marry.
I would have taken more time with the relationship, but they probably figured that would just be more time for the media, public and their families to find out and try to talk them out of it.
Trust me, age is only a number because at 43, I'm still the Diva. ; )
