Love It Or Hate It: Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci arrived to the 'Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy' Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a very, very interesting red and white gauzy dress. I love that Christina took a risk and went all out for the Gala so I definitely give her points for that, but what do you think of the actual dress? Is it flattering? In other news, Christina has said that she wants to get back into filming movies for children. Makes sense since she is currently promoting Speed Racer! Why did she choose this movie to start off her new career trend with?

I wanted to do a kids movie again. I wanted to do a family film. There are so many family movies for kids but they don't actually teach you anything. Speed Racer really stresses integrity and morals and a love of family, and that's something I think is really important and a trend we need to bring back."

I think the dress if very different and very flattering on her. Not too many women could wear this, but Christina is one of them who can.

MCW MCW said:

I think the dress is very flattering on her- it makes her look tiny! As for the colors and gauze, eh I'm not too crazy about that!

She is the best-dressed celeb at this function. Her dress suits the theme of the night perfectly. She looks hot. I've never seen her look better.

It looks like gauze over a bathing suit, but whatever.

She looks like a skeleton wrapped in Valentine's Day gift wrap.

I wouldn't wear it - mainly because I couldn't pull it off. She however looks beautiful in it and it shows off her great figure.

Wow, amazing, quickly rising to icon status in the fashion sense. As for the kids movies, one of my fave family movies is Mermaids. Ok, family for tween girls. But one of my all time fave books, then movies. Love it!

My first impression when I saw the pic was that the dress is exquisite. It's delicate, dreamy and unique. She looks like a superhero going to a ball.

for once she looks great w/out the bangs!

How can you NOT love a child star who grows up to be so cool and NORMAL???

afterthought.......... I bet she has 1,000+ great smutty stories to tell.

Adorable. Although, in a strange sort of way, I miss her slightly rounder and more nourished body but I understand that thin (scrawny) = success in her business. Whatever makes this gorgeous, talented woman happy.

the dress looks good, but somehow she reminds me of that matian chick from that movie "Martian Attacks" from '96

I loved it from the front, but then I saw the back and it ruined it for me. the color really suits her though.

Agree with Sasha #32

She did look a lot better when she had more weight on her bones. Especially in the face.

Although I don't know why Sasha would think it 'strange' to have this opinion. Its the most natural thing in the world to think when a celeb has gone too skinny in pursuit of better roles and more success.

Seems no one is immune to the pressure anymore apart from Scarlett and she gets castigated at every possbile opportunity.

Gesesis Wave Gesesis Wave said:

BTW I'm not a fan of the dress. Could just get my hatred for the colour pink though.

Katie Katie said:

I reminds me of wonderwoman only from a dream or something along those lines....I like it, it's very unique but totally suits her!!

kharris kharris said:

She's a Hollywood original and I absolutely adore her quirkiness. Fun dress for the occasion, and one that verrrrrrrrry few people could wear.

I don't like it. The gauze blends with her skin, making it look just WRONG. I like her a lot though.
