Evan Rachel Wood Can't Stomach Marilyn Manson's Mansinthe

I rarely drink so I really can't understand what the point of something so strong is. But Evan Rachel Wood says that she can't even stomach Marilyn Manson's brand of absinthe, Mansinthe, because it's way too potent for her.
"For my birthday, I did one shot to try it, and that was it. I was drunk immediately. Being who he is, Manson wanted to make it as strong as it could possibly be, so it's got the highest amount of wormwood that you can have legally. One shot of it, and you're out for the night. Three shots of it, you're dead."
That just doesn't sound like my idea of a good time, but to each his own. Mansinthe isn't available in the U.S. but it will be soon.
Does anyone else think it's a little weird that she refers to him as Manson? I mean, aren't people generally on a first name basis with their serious long term boyfriends?

Calling him Manson is probably a good indicator that this quote might be false. Everything that comes out is not always true no matter how tame of a quote it is. She might call him that but it sounds a little weird.

Marilyn isn't his real name... and everyone calls him Manson so it's naturally that she does as well.

I think that Mansithe is Marilyn Manson's version of Absinthe. I read that it tastes like sewage water. I tried real absinthe when I was in Vienna and, trust me, you must have an interesting palette to enjoy the stuff.
His "Mansinthe" received HORRIBLE reviews and was compared to sewage water. Pass thanks...it's just a phase. Hopefully she'll wake up one morning, realize she's young and not dead, open the blinds to find the sun and dump his pathetic butt.
Brian Warner - Just call him Brian. Is there anyone out there that is still buying into his image anymore?
Image? That is him. He created a persona and became that. Even former band members that have left on bad terms involving law suits say it's very real and he doesn't create a separation between his image and reality. Try not sounding like a moron next time.
I am sure I will be slaughtered, but I love Manson's music, and I happen to be one that doesn't care what he dresses up as or how different he looks.
If you ask me, I WISH I had enough nerve to wear something so extremely different in public and not think twice about it.
Everyone is so quick to label him a freak, but I read his autobiography years ago and it explained so many things...
You know all those pictures of him with different colored eyes? It's a tribute to his childhood dog, who he considered his best friend. It was one of those Husky or similar dogs, the kind that commonly has the 2 different colored eyes. Anyway, while he was away with his family one weekend, his next door neighbor poisoned the dog and killed it.
So... all is not what it seems... don't be so quick to judge...
Manson is a true artist and he has style. Even if you dont like him you have to admit that he stands out in everything he does. She really does call him
Manson, its in all her quotes. He chose the persona at a young age and never looked back.
As to college kids dying, its their own fault for drinking so much. They should momitor their drinking if it worries them. Anyway, how many people of that age drink things like absinthe that often anyway? its mainly beer and cheap shots

Not to long ago I did some research on Absinthe and found it was some strange stuff. It can certainly kill you if you don't know what you are doing.
The spoons they use are VERY cool.

JJ...i like his music too. It's funky! I don't agree with her changing for him, and i honestly don't care what he looks like. I have a HUGE variety of music i like, and his is one.
Besides, if you ever saw me...you would know i cannot judge anyone on outside appearance. haha

Actually, I think it's kind of sweet that she calls him Manson. It shows a closeness. And that's where the sweetness ends. Can't she find her own style? If she wants to change for him, that her (dumb) choice, but can't she evolve into someone different, someone other than the spitting image of his ex? You can bet your bananas that Dita laughs her head off everytime she sees this little poseur.
My parents call each other by their last names (my dad's last name and my mum's maiden name that is) all the time and they've been married for almost 30 years, so I don't find it odd at all. What I do find odd about MM and mini-Dita is...everything else.
I think she used his last name because she is conscious of the fact that he's currently marketing the product, so she is using "marketing sound bites" to talk about it. It just means she's good at staying on her talking points. As for Manson's music, he *was* a revolutionary genius... Up til around the same time he met this girl.
It isn't that bad, Mansinthe that is. I live in Amsterdam so it's obviously legal here.
After meeting Manson and Evan in Cologne last year (where he was promoting his artwork and Mansinthe) i decided to try the stuff and get me one of those bottles.
I'm no particular fan of Absinthe so can't be the judge of whether it's any good but i can say that it's not that strong...

She has changed SO much. She was such a sweet looking girl before. Evan is so young and I can't help but think she is losing her identity and becoming who MANSON wants her to be. She is looking a lot like his previous girlfriend. It's kind of sad. If she is happy, good for her. But I think she will look back on this relationship someday and think to herself, "Dear God, what did I do?"
According to the article they said Mansinthe is not available in the United States. I live in San Antonio, Texas and one of of liquor stores in Alamo Heights carries Mansinthe, I almost bought a bottle, but didn't have enough cash on me at the time. So it IS sold in the U.S. you just have to ask for it.
Oh, and by the way, I think she looks pretty either way she dresses, whether it's plain old pretty girl or goth girl, she looks good, and I don't in any way think she is trying to look like Dita. I have always thought Dita was ugly. Her mouth gave me the creeps. And the age difference so what? How many of us girls date men older than us??? My hubby is 14 years older than me, but you'd never tell. We are best friends, we laugh at the same things, we have fun! AND he's very dependable, unlike guys my age who are not dependable, are always late and "going out with the boys" is more important than doing things with your girlfriend. And it's not a daddy complex either, I have a great father who I was very close too and got all that I wanted and needed and had a great friendship with my dad. I know there are some girls who go for the older guys cuz they didn't get enough attention from dad at home. If you fall in love, you fall in love, it happens. Evan looks nothing like Dita. She has said on interviews that she's glad she normally has really pale skin anyway. I think they are a neat couple and obviously in love and have fun together. They are both smart cookies! The days of Dita are over, so none of us should even bring up Dita, she couldn't handle the lifestyle, so she got out, they just weren't meant to be lovers and partners in life and Evan may not be either, but we have all dated until we found the right person. They are no different than us. We dress up and look pretty for our husbands, at least I do, what's wrong with that. I love Manson's music and although my husband doesn't, he doesn't have a qualm when I play it in the house while I am cleaning or cooking. He doesn't mind either when I pale down and go with my kinda goth look. He loves me for who I am and I love him for who he is and that is greatest way to get along. Manson and Evan accept things about each other because they love each other. That is what it's all about.
