-Mischa Barton in response to the pictures taken of her in a bathing suit showing cellulite.
"Every woman has cellulite. I've never claimed to have a perfect body. I eat healthy, I work out. I feel very comfortable. I come from a European family that's always very comfortable with their bodies. You are what you are as a woman. If I'm in shape and I'm fulfilling my role as an actress, then that's all that matters to me. There's been a lot of nasty gossip written about me. If I was to cry over every single thing, I'd be the most depressed person ever. Trust me, there have been some low points in my life where I got really depressed about it, but in general, I find it's smarter to not get depressed and not feed into it."

I do think lots of woman have cellulite skinny or fat. I am slender and I have a tiny bit under my hiney. She is right, she never clained to be perfect so people need to leave her alone. She doesnt crave attention like hohan and such, she just minds her own business!
good attitude. I still think they doctored the pic to make it look a lot worse than it is. I know some fat people who does not have cellulite or much cellulite and yet some skinny people who have a lot more cellulite than someone who is overweight. Regardless your body size, every women have it.

Yup, it's part of being female! THose that don't have it are models that are PHOTOSHOPPED in magazines.
I agree with her, she's absolutely right. Still, she may be comfortable with her body but she should get a stylist that shows her how to dress her body to make it look better.

I think that's a great statement. I can understand feeling like that but still being upset about the pictures. She as topless too, right? I mean it's such an invasion of privacy. She might not have been in private, but most of us can go out in public without being singled out like that. I know it's the life she signed up for, but there should be a line everyone agrees not to cross. At the core of it, she's still a woman and we all have our insecure moments. Most of us get to deal with them privately.
She is right. But I still think she needs to FIRE her stylist. Ugh!
Good attitude!!! I agree totally. No one is perfect and the ones that are probably saw a surgeon to be that way. I consider myself to be very thin and in shape I have cellulite on my rear too. I am 5'4" and I weigh 118 and I have it. It used to bother me, but when I went to the beach or out on the boat I realized pretty much everyone, except the 18 year olds, had it too. Hollywood paints a very toxic picture of what a woman should try to look like. I just want to try to feel as confident as Mischa. And I take back anything I have said about her in the past. I was wrong. Cool chick!
I think it's ridiculous how she's being bashed all the time for her cellulite and for gaining a few pounds. I'm sure her weight before would have been medically considered underweight and her current weight is probably still on the low end of "normal". Women get cellulite, it's just the way life goes, I think the people who are critical of her body need to get over it.

Nice 'public' statement. If you're so comfortable with your body why do your clothing choices scream 'self-hate'?
I agree with Mischa, I think she has a perfectly fine in-shape body, she also has the means to buy probably fitting matching clothing.

#6 She flipped out because they were taking photos of her TOPLESS... she was hanging out in the sun having a good time in a private place (or at least it seemed that way) and they didn't let her have any privacy. That is why she flipped out... and that is a very legitimate reason.

I feel for the girl. She does get ATTACKED regularly by just about every gossip blogger. As for cellulite, sorry but not all women have it. I'm probably older than most of you and truly don't have it. I have been blessed with good skin and lower epidermis. My mother, who is now 82 years old, also did not have any cellulite until she was over 60 years old. Some of us are lucky in that way and some of us are not. That doesn't mean I don't have to shave my hirsute legs and arm pits every day of the week. We've all got problems, just not the same ones.

It's ridiculous how some people put celebrities on a pedestal then go crazy over photos showing their cellulite or doing something normal. We get mad at certain celebrities for being too thin and being the cause of all eating disorders, then criticize them when they're not looking perfect. I think Mischa is handling this situation in a very admirable way, although she really didn't have to cover her legs in such ugly pants...

Of course some people don't have cellulite. But thr majority of women have. People who are thin are just as likely to have it as people who are considered 'fat'
Its a fact of life. I can't believe pictures like this still sell magazines, surely...surely! we are past the point of thinking 'Oh good that celeb has cellulite just like me!, better buy the magazine'
Its so boring! When will the celeb culture ever grow up and stop judging every aspect of a famous persons anatomy.

She's right, except about the part of fulfilling her role as an actress. In what alternate universe is she doing that? Girl can't act. Honestly, she better watch her weight as well....her mom is no small wonder.
i love mischa! shes so confident and admirable. But i just found out that those photos are photoshopped by the photographer to make her look like she has an 80 year olds ass. how pathetic! i thought it was strange because i saw pictures of her on a beach a week ago and her bum looked nothing like this. she looked healthy and fit.
and actually mischa is fulfilling her role as an actress. she's has several films coming out. two of them don't sound great, but the others sound really cool and original. she had a film that just premiered at sundance- did everyone forget about that?! critics hailed her performance in it, and she has another film of her's premiering at cannes. i think she's got a good future ahead of her. as long as she keeps working on projects she loves then thats all that matters.
She starved herself for all those modelling assignments. Now her body's rebelling and she's let's face it...FAT. Oh, well, couldn't starve much longer could she?
