“I’ve had red hair for the past four years. Before that I never thought of being anything but blonde. There was a definite shift in my life when I decided to go red. When you’re blonde, people associate it all with being flirty. With red hair, suddenly you’re quirky.”
– Amy Adams
I recently heard a study done that asked women if they could naturally be any color, what would it be. The answer was an overwhelming RED! So maybe Amy is onto something here.

LOVE red hair. Mine is brown. There are so many different shades of red and I love them all.
You can tell this quote came from someone not having redhair as a child. Kids were very cruel when I was growing up about my red hair. Now that Im an adult I love it.
Yeah, I’m a natural chestnut brown but I’ve been dying my hair red for the last 6 or 7 years and it always stands out, I can’t imagine going any other color.
Its a beautiful thing being a true, real, honest beautiful redhead!!! YEAH! Thanks for putting something like this on here…it reminds me that I am special!!! HEE! HEE! Feisty, foxy, spicy, sassy…all for the love of being a redhead!!!
…………..IT FUCKS BETTER?
I have naturally red hair and white skin but i dye my hair dark brown and in 4 to 6 weeks i can see the red again all over. Its a really strong color, and i kind of hate it. In ancient times red hair women were considered witches and even now some men consider them a kinky lay. I’m not makeing this up, I met quite a few in my natural hair colour times…they’re quite pathetic…
I too am a red head….since the day I was born! It’s awesome……there are so few natural red heads out there…..I add some blonde for depth and dimension….I love it!!!!!
Red hair is beautiful, I wish it was my natural hair color (but black isn’t bad either), I’m a blonde and its just boring, to me its like having no color on the head.
Here we have a show called “germany’s next topmodel” – its the same as in america – and the last year’s winner has amazing red, long hair, all natural

i’m already slightly strawberry blonde. like i look like a blonde who has lots of different streaks of red in their hair. I’ve always wanted to be red tho. i have such fair skin so it wouldn’t look so abnormal. I can’t wait for it and i think red is sexier than blonde! Listen up reds, love your locks!
Yes… but i think that only very few people can pull of red hair! But it does look gorgeous

Though students at my school do cop a lot of grief if they have red hair, they are called RANGAS.. Ah well i guess its just jealousy
I have dirty blonde hair naturally, i like it!! I think it accompanies my personality (goofy) even if i had another hair colour people still wouldn’t take me seriously
Everyone’s hair is beautiful its just what best suits you! And the best part is that you can always change it and style it to make yourself feel good

I have natural red hair and tons of freckles but its alright.
yet i get teased a bit but whats so different about red and all the other hair colours!
I’m glad my friends dont care
I am a natural red head and have spent my whole life (30 years) in emotional pain due to the harsh, cruel comments that people dish out to red heads. I hate my life! People are so awful. I have tried to kill myself and cry all the time. I would rather have cancer or be in a wheel-chair than live the life that I have lived as a red head. It is just heart-breaking.
That is so sad. People can be so hurtful.
I have natural red hair and though I have been teased for it since I was a kid, I wouldn’t trade it for the world! It’s unique and fun and I love it!
I am naturally ash blonde (read: GRAY), but I have really fair skin and green eyes (like Adams). I’ve been dying my hair red and no one believes I’m not a natural redhead (even when it’s currently colored an obviously not-natural shade of red). My family has Celtic and Viking origins, and my great-grandmother had Titian hair, but I somehow landed with blonde. While being a redhead in places like England gets you prejudice, here in America, being blond is still very much equated with being a brainless bimbo. I am really opinionated and strong-willed, and blond hair wasn’t natural to me (even if the hair was). I’m quite happy with my red hair.
Did you know that quite a few famous opera divas have died died their hair red (Sutherland, Sills, etc)? It’s apparently a very popular color in that scene.
Sorry, I messed up: Adams has blue eyes, but the fair skin thing still applies.
I have long natural red hair, even living here in sunny Scotland (the land of the redhead), i get a hard time over my hair colour. Unlike other hair colours, my hair is always the first thing someone comments on when i meet them. I am 30yrs old and the nasty things people say never stops.
And thanks to South Park and Face book, i got hit on the kick a ginger day.
I do get a lot of positive comments as well though, it is fairly balanced.
What i never get used to is stares, and sometimes mainly from other women i get the odd snigger. I am fairly shy and quiet and sometimes don’t feel comfortable in my own skin due to it. Other hair colours don’t seem to get treated this way, so why is it ok for red hair colours to get treated this way?
I am lucky i have a very protective boyfriend, whom speaks up for me when the nasties get said, or i would find it difficult to go out anywhere for a long period of time, i guess that what life long bullying does to a person.

I have red hair, kinda brownish reddish, and i hate it. I’ve dyed it 5 times to a brown, because it get’s me so angry. I’ve never really appriciated my hair and never did any of the kids i go to school with. They all leave mean comments. But yet, all the adults will be like your hair is beautiful, especially since i also have naturally curly hair. Some of my friends and family also say they want my hair and they tell me i will appriciate it when i get older. I hope it’s true… :/
I’m a natural blonde (lt golden when I was younger, darker now) and have been through all versions and levels of highlights and lowlights. The blonder I’ve gone the more attention I get from men. While living in L.A. in the early 2000s I went red. I was hoping to meet a better quality of men in their late 30s to mid 40s. Previously I ‘suffered’ thru the run of men who were either threatened or disappointed to find I was a blonde IT professional. Once a redhead, no more male attention except from the few with red fetishes. What surprised me most was how many strangers came up to me to comment on my hair. They either loved red or hated it and felt almost obligated to tell me what they thought about it. I have the coloring that works well with strawberry blonde and warmer reds. Strawberry blonde seems to get the most attention as well as the highest amount of positive attention.
To the girl who said she would rather have cancer than red hair and who cries and wants to commit suicide .. I hope it’s just your drama princess speaking and that you have found a way to love yourself, red hair and all. Reds are unique .. people who are mean to others are to be forgotten. They don’t count in life.
I adore all the attention I get for my red hair. It’s almost always positive. There is no way I would want to be any other color. For those young redheads, my advice is, just wait. Strong and interesting men go for redheads!
drop dead gorgeous is one of the best movies ever! lol. “they won’t let you perform naked, i already asked” haha. hmmm…cheerleaders at my high school aren’t quite that….well…you know.
YES! I recently watched “Drop Dead Gorgeous” for the first time in forever, and realized that Amy Adams was the cheerleader girl who couldn’t stop making out with her boyfriend! She was blond then and totally forgettable. I hear ya, Amy!

I have naturally red hair. It is really interesting, because you forget that you are very much in a minority. I watched a movie the other day and one of the main characters had super red hair (just about the same as mine) and I realized that is how I look EVERY day.

Just like fashion, hair color goes in and out of vogue. Back when we were kids redheads were almost considered freaks of nature. Remember?
I’ve never understood what all the damn fuss is over being blonde. Red is absolutely where it’s at. I mean come on it’s so rare and beautiful!
I’ve had really dark brown hair (almost black), reddish, and blonde (right now). I gotta say that being blonde is the best. I feel like it’s the color that suits my complexion and my style the best, and everyone says I look like a totally different person (in a good way). I’ll definitely be sticking to blonde for a while.
My daugher is a natural redhead (gorgeous color, copper with natural blondish highlights) and she gets so much attention! She’s 14 and I was worried she’d end up hating having red hair (and being different), but she has really embraced it. She’s beautiful. : – )
i’m a natural dark brown, but i have been every shade blonde, red, black. it’s so fun to change your color. the way people treat you is soo wierd. even my own boyfriend treats me differnt and has to adjust to my new color. kinda strange
#7, I agree! I got my hair done a couple of weeks ago and everyone treats me totally different. My bf loves it so he’s all about my hair… apparently blonde hair=doll hair so everyone loves it.
I have wanted my hair red for a long time! I’ve tried to dye it a gazillion times and it always comes right out. My blonde hair just won’t have it! LOL
