Naomi Watts Having Lunch At NoHo Star

Naomi Watts Having Lunch At NoHo Star

Naomi Watts was spotted having lunch with a friend at NoHo Star Restaurant in NYC yesterday. I find it amazing that the gorgeous Naomi is back to her pre-baby weight so quickly. Do you guys think that celebrities that lose weight quickly set a standard for all women to feel that they need to lose weight as fast? BECAUSE I DO.

And while I am on the subject, I am starting to go to more events for coverage and see myself starting to get a bit of a body image issue. I am really working hard at taming the beast. But it's almost insane how skinny all these celebs are in real life. For instance, yesterday I met Kelly Ripa (will post later on in the day) and she is STICK THIN. STICK THIN. Should I say it again?! I found myself taking pictures of her LEGS because I was so shocked that legs could actually look like that and still function properly.

I think it's completely normal to start getting body image issues when you're around super thin women, especially when their celebrities too. But you have to remember that those people are paid to look that way. They have personal trainers, personal chefs, all the resources they need to look/stay that way. Please please please don't let it all go to your head

i agree with you, Vera don't let it get to you. although i am of the popular opinion of being fit, but not skinny.

I for one think Kelly Ripa is getting way too thin. She needs to put a little meat on her bones.

I think as stated before, that actresses get paid to look like that and often focus on little else. And I think you don't have to be that skinny to look good - Kelly Ripa looks anorexic, so does Kate Bosworth etc. . Love Naomi, though. :) Any maybe shi didn't gain all that much during her pregnancy?

I guess you have to decide what's important to you in life, to be skinny, or to be happy. for many celebrities, unfortunately, the decision is to be skinny. As someone who has suffered from an eating disorder, I know that it's impossible to be completely happy when you are constantly obsessed with your weight and the way you look. I think that for the sake of your kids, and your family, you are better off just being happy with who are you and not letting these body image issues take over your life like celebrities do.

Most of these 'skinny celebs' are unhealthy and unhappy. If you eat well and work out you will look great, that is a guarantee. So you can either make the commitment to health and fitness or you can call others out for being skinny. I think Kelly Ripa is ENTIRELY too skinny but at the same time our view of 'skinny' is skewed since SO many people are straight FAT these days. I get people telling me to eat and put some meat on my bones and I am FAR from ano skinny (I wear a size 25 jeans and I have an ass and thighs) its just that the average American is not used to seeing slender women anymore. A size 8 is 'thin' these days and a 14 is 'average'. Those numbers are more messed up then Hollyweird ano's IMO.

I have seen your pictures on this site and I think you look gorgeous! Thin but not too thin, you have curves and a beautiful face. That said, I am not surprised being around celebs is starting to affect you. I know I wouldn´t handle it. Please don´t let it go to your head. For you, your husbands and your two little adorable children. I have been battling eating disorder for about 4 years now, because I let celebs affect me too much and believe me! You will lose everything. (I am well on my way to recovery now, so don´t worry, But I lost 4 years of my life and the disorder will always affect me).

Vera, you're beautiful and it's not your fault Kelly Ripa is a freak of nature! :) If we all had nannies, and chefs, and trainers, and light speed metabolisms, we could weigh 70 lbs too! Keep your head held high and remember you have a cheering section here any day you need it!

I've like the recent picture of Halle Berry post-pregnancy. I'm sure she'll be back to a stick eventually, but I think it's great that she's out and not worried about having a normal post-pregnancy body. It takes most women a full year to lose baby weight - losing it in 1 month is not normal.

Pleaseplease don't give in! You are wonderful the way you are and they are all paid to be like that, and that's essentially their job. It's what they do.

Vera, a few months ago my sisters and I were in NYC and attended Regis and Kelly. All three of us were SHOCKED at how thin Kelly is. Not to pick on her but her legs were SO THIN and her back when she turned around was really awful to even look at. She's always seemed thin to me, but when I saw her in person....WOW!

The whole Hollywood scene objectifies women. The stereotype promoted is usually blonde (often fake) , large-breasted (often fake), tanned (often fake), cosmetically altered to remove perceived "faults", and last but not least, THIN. A woman who was of "normal" body weight would be regarded as overweight in this scenario. Hence when these women get pregnant and put on weight as a natural part of the process, once the child is born, they are under immense pressure to lose it or the work will dry up. They are able to achieve this in such a short space of time because they can pay for the people to help them, and someone to look after the baby while they work out, etc. Unfortunately, those who are taken in that such quick weight loss is the normal experience for most women, are going to feel pressured and perhaps unhappy about themselves at a time which should by filled with happiness. Women need to realize that the hype promoted in magazines, etc about these women is just that, and concentrate on what is real in their lives.
