Amy Winehouse's Aunt Begs Press To Back Off
"Give it a break - stop printing all those nasty photos. Amy has the press knocking on her door at two o’clock, three o’clock in the morning, and some of the photos of Amy at her worst is when she’s had no sleep and gone downstairs to say, ‘Leave me alone, shut up, I want to go to sleep’.
"Please let her finish her rehabilitation - let her try to get off the stuff and then we’ll have the Amy we all want. You keep bringing up that she’s a teenage icon and what example is she setting. She’s setting no example. She didn’t want to be an example - all she wants to be is a singer and a songwriter. There are thousands of families going through the same tragic situation as us all over England and they’re allowed to get on it quietly - and this is all we ask for Amy.
Sometimes in our heart of hearts - and this is going to sound ever so bad - we wish she would be incarcerated and maybe that would help get her off the drugs."

She is not going to heal at her current rate. She needs some intervention, from her family. They need to take a cue from Britney's parents. Amy is not going to get better on her own. Sounds like her family is completely delusional. It's not like the press is knocking on her door and she meets them in her pj's and pink bunny slippers saying I am trying to sleep. The camera's are catching her out and about and wasted.
Why the hell SHOULD we leave her alone?? She begs to be photographed, practically, and her little overdoses and on-camera drug binges are simply sympomatic of her pathetic need for fame and attention -- no matter how debased or messed-up she seems. She doesn't WANT to be left alone. Isn't that OBVIOUS??

There is one way to avoid being photographed at three o'clock in the morning. Just don't open the door and if the knocking persists empty a bucket of water out of the window. Or call the police.
People love a train wreck and as such they will not leave her alone until she is incarcerated or dead. It's unfortunate. People have lost all of their sympathy and empathy and just attack. Paparazzi are making it worse for her. It's sad! And all of these self righteous postings - who the eff are you? Have you ever been addicted? Have you ever been stalked by camera's and lights constantly? What about both? She's young - we should give her a break instead of trying to tear her down. Maybe one of the paps can offer help or assistance instead.
Well, hello, WLJ! How about a can of lighten up, hmmmm? Just like a lottery winner winning a bajillion dollars, Winehouse is going to have her share of people bugging her. Like most wealthy stars, they have a GATED HOME, not a home with 24/7 access to paparazzi at the front door. She has bought hamburgers for them, bummed money from them, it's a 50/50 affair, just like Brit-Brit.
No one told her to walk about high out of her head, no one told her to make that wonderful video with Pete Doherty, starring newborn mice sitting upon their filthy drug-stained fingers and nails. Winehouse doesn't give a flying you-know-what about her appearance, health, and well-being. Yes, it's hard to watch her in this condition and yes it's heartbreaking (I've watched a sibling go thru the very same thing) but honestly, do you think you're helping?
