Laurence Fishburne Bringing The Alchemist To The Big Screen

This isn’t mainstream INO… but I LOVE this book so I had to share the news. Laurence Fishburne has announced that he is making The Alchemist into a movie. So excited! Although truth be told, movies never do books justice. ;) Either way, it seems Laurence enjoyed the book as much as I have.

"It is a book I have been truly inspired by and I have agreed to personally produce it. The Alchemist is simple and spiritual, and the screenplay will reflect that. The book means so much to people on a spiritual level yet there is also a great love story in it.
It is an incredibly moving, emotional story.

"I think this story will act as a bridge to the Middle East. In the Middle East, the book has been an overwhelming success. That is a world that we need to know more about an extend a bridge to. This movie could be a healer in that region, bringing the West and the East together, especially the Middle East."

Fishburne is set to play the alchemist of the title.

Thanks for mentioning non-mainstream news once in a while, Vera!

All those things one can find at other sites too get boring after a while, so it’s nice to get something else for a change – and anyway, this book has sold 40 million copies worldwide, so that should make it mainstream again, shouldn’t it?

Boy ! It has been years they’re discussing about it, and as a fan, I really don’t see him as Santiago, not in a million years…
    Ach !

Mmmm…Laurence Fishburne as Cowboy Curtis on “Pee Wee’s Playhouse.” I spent a lot of time masturbating on Saturday mornings back then…
