Affair Causes Shania Twain To Divorce Her Husband
I don't particularly love to speculate about these things, but People is running the story and they are generally an extremely reliable source. They're claiming that Shania Twain's soon to be ex-husband, Robert Lang, was having an affair with his secretary.
Sources close to the situation say a third party was involved: Marie-Anne Thiébaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple’s chateau in Switzerland. "Mutt and Marie-Anne left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship," says one source.
Robert has denied that's true.
"It's absolutely not the reason [for the separation]," the famously reclusive producer told PEOPLE when asked about the alleged affair. He also denied that he was in a romantic relationship with Thiébaud: "I'm not, no," he said. "It's not true."
And, of course, Shania is devestated. Who wouldn't be?
"This came out of left field ... She loved him."
For now, she has a group of close friends and family supporting her and helping her get through this.
I have never been a fan of hers but I feel so bad for her if this is all true. I mean, could you imagine if this happened to you? I would be devastated to say the least.
Why would you want to cheat on her? or anybody for that matter.
I thought shania and mutt were weird anyways.

divorce can be hard on anyone, ecspecially when their is a third party involived (if this is even true, i dont believe anything until it comes from the horses mouth, or i see pic). but, she isnt close to being a bad looking woman and i love her music. she will land on her feet; she always has. alot can be said about a woman that took care of all her brothers and sisters after their parents were killed. i dont think i could have done it. if she can get through that she can get through this. a cheating? husband is nothing to cry over. be glad he can neva hurt you again and feel for the next grl that he does it too.

I remember that their marriage hit a rough patch in 2000, amid rumours of her cheating on him. Cheating isn't right, no matter what the circumstances, but it is usually a symptom of a problem in a marriage. A solid marriage won't have third parties in the mix. And cheating rarely has anything to do with looks, either. The average "other woman" or "other man" is not usually someone drop-dead gorgeous, either. Another misconception. And looks are not enough to keep someone interested. That isn't all there is to a person or a relationship.

Its like that line in the movie Alfie...show me a good looking woman and I will show you a man who is tired of shagging her ( or something along those lines ). Looks alone wont keep a couple faithful.
I personally had this happen to me and I can't tell you how awful the feeling is when you first start to figure out what is happening-the betrayal feels as if you are suffocating...many blessings Shania. Keep our chin up and you will make it through. He didn't deserve you, the big ass.

I have mixed feelings about this. Yes, I'm sad for Shania, but on the other hand, I don't know what their marriage is like. Just because Shania is beautiful, it doesn't automatically mean she's a good wife. One's appearance and how one fills a role (wife, friend, sister, etc.) are two separate issues.

Now, I'm NOT presuming Shania is at fault, but I'm not presuming her innocence either. I'm just saying I reserve judgement because I don't know what their marriage is like.

Well, it always takes two... it's never as simple as it looks. If he has an affair then how low life of him not to at least stand by his affair! He sounds like Bill Clinton. I lost all my respect for him when he denied his affair. Ok, you make a mistake but at least be a man and stand to your mistake.
