David Cook Wins American Idol

Did you watch? I did. What a show! When David Cook was announced as the winner of American Idol and started to cry, I had to do everything in my power to contain myself. He got so emotional and it was so genuine!
At the very end of the show, the last few seconds of air time showed David's brother saying into the camera, "That's my brother!". Best moment of the show for me. You know that entire family is still celebrating!!

thanx for the spoil, vera! i couldn't watch it last night and was trying to keep away from any spoilers... every single blog is only really talking about the winner after the jump, so you don't find out unless you want to... and then i get in here and there it is... i was going to watching to whole thing when i got back to work, but it's ruined now, thanks...
Cath, If you really didn't want to know who won, why in the heck are you on a celebrity gossip page? Sorry but that was stupid on your part and I think you were rude to Vera. Grow up. BTW: must be nice to have a job were you can get paid to sit on your ass and watch t.v.
i dont really see how its a spoiler when all you had to do is open up google this morning and see it right in front of your eyes. people are insane when it comes to this stuff ! anyway, I LOVED the fact that Simon apologized to David Cook!! he does't strike me as the type of person who goes back on his word very often :)
I accidently spoiled it last year by checking INO, but that's becuase I was online while watching the finale, but this year, we watched it almost live, (just behind enough to fast forward through commercials... Thanks TiVo!) But I'm so happy DAVID COOK WON!!!
Oh Puulleeeeze! If anyone didn't want to know the results, then they should not be anywhere near a computer, (radio, tv, friends, other humans on the planet...) because this is EVERYWHERE this morning! Please don't blame Vera for your own stupidity! Some people!!!....>:{
I didn't mean to sound disrespectful to Vera, I should've said it was my own fault, I'm sorry to Vera if I seemed disrespectful in any way. I think I was distracted as I was typing that this morning.
TOTALLY agree with Passerby above..... don't blame Vera. Get off your damn computer if you don't want to know results dum-dum!
I'm surprised people still watch this show. It's become so boring and bland. the same old, same old each and every season.
Love love love David Cook - I think he's just a real guy - nice, normal guy. Like Simon said, he's one of the kindest, most genuine contestants American Idol has had. Oh my god...did you see Skunk Girl? What in the hell was that! She was even more awful than before! And her hair...if you're going to have funky color like that - great...but have a funky style to go with it! It was all flat and blah. Carly was FABULOUS as usual. Loved her too.
I was SO EXCITED when David Cook won I was jumping up and down! My husband thought I was crazy! I immediatly called my mom and she was screaming as well, and I could hear my dad in the background going "Geez, calm down!" It was a great moment for him, and I loved how he kept all the Idols with him as he walked off the stage and over to the judges. He seems like an amazing guy, and I can not WAIT to hear what he comes out with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus, it doesn't hurt he's easy on the eyes ;-)
That spoiled me, too, which really sucks. I live in Germany and I download the episodes in the morning to watch them later in the evening. I've been online all day and have managed to avoid spoilers up till now. Not everyone lives in the States, you know. :(

No kidding people - if you don't want to read about who won you shouldn't be online dummies! Anyhow... am I the only one that is sad that David Archuletta didn't win!!?? I thought he was the one. He was the only contestant that could sing an entire song in key!!!!! Geez!!!!

Sorry Germany, it's called AMERICAN Idol and it was on over 12 hours ago. Better not cover it because someone in BF Egypt might not have seen it yet. It's not unreasonable to expect that it would widely be covered on any site or blog that covers entertainment issues the following day. It's one thing to live in New York and cover it before the West Coast has a chance to see it but for frick sake, how long should the blogger wait? until you've found time in your busy schedule to watch the show? "Please don't spoil the last episode of the Sopranos...I haven't had a chance to watch it on Tivo yet and until I do, you're not allowed to talk about it." To my original reason for commenting, doesn't David Cook have a very sick relative? I thought maybe the brother has cancer or something. I thought I read that.
I just got off my dead butt and answered my own question. Yes David's brother does have cancer. brain cancer. he has two small children and is a lawyer. Puts a whole new spin on his reaction and his brother being there with him. wow. powerful.
I am so glad he won, he was my fav. Best moment for me was also when his brother said "That's my brother
