What a loss for the industry. Sydney Pollack had died at the age of 73 after losing the battle to cancer. He is credited for over 20 films including Out of Africa, Tootsie, Michael Clayton and The Way We Were.
Stars are releasing statements to express their sympathies for the family. George Clooney says,
"Sydney made the world a little better, movies a little better and even dinner a little better."
He will be missed.

My condolences go out to his family.
I read that he was just diagnosed 8-9 months ago. Stomach cancer is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. How sad.
This is incredibly sad. He is one of my favourite directors AND actors. I wish he had done more acting. Sydney, you will be greatly missed!
What a lovely statement from George Clooney. Mr. Pollack truly will be missed.
I enjoyed him in all his movies….he will be missed.
