Angelina Jolie sat down with the Sydney Morning Herald and talked Cannes, babies, having more children, getting married and being Brangelina. They pretty much covered everything didn’t they?
Yeah, I’m OK, so far I’m just fine. Everybody said I didn’t have to come, but I was feeling all right. It’s not such hard work. I’m sitting and talking a lot and everybody is being nice to me. If anything, being pregnant and not working I’ve had more time to read and study, to do all those things that I don’t when I’m working.
On her pregnancy weight gain:
No, I haven’t [gained elsewhere]. It’s genetics. Dad’s a lanky person. I’m actually trying to put on as much weight as possible so I can stretch, you know. I want as much room as possible
On good friend Gwen Stefani, also due around the same time — again!:
Somehow we keep ending up pregnant at the exact same time. We were having a play-date and Gwen was trying to figure out what she was going to wear as she got more pregnant and I asked her if she had any spare clothes,
and she gave me this [L.A.M.B. casual black] dress.
Plans after the birth of the twins:
I plan to disappear for at least a month or two afterwards.
On rumors she and and Brad may wed:
I know! [laughs] I turned on the news and heard we were getting married, and thought, ‘That’s odd!’ You know, we’re not against it; it’s not something we’re making a stand about or are scared of. It’s just not felt necessary. We’ve both been married before and I think we feel like we are together because we want to be.
We want to raise these children together; we’re committed to them and that’s the priority. It’s not about some contract binding us to have to be dedicated to each other, but that we were going to start building this family and be close just because we are. So we don’t need to do it but one day we
will. Maybe if the kids start asking — they’ll probably be the ones to make the decision.
On the focus on her looks:
I don’t take it seriously at all and I never listen to it. I look in the mirror and I see my mom and I see my little daughter. Like everybody, there are things about myself that I don’t like. I don’t want to point out my flaws. I have them. [laughs] But right now in my life I have a really good partner and somebody who makes me feel that even when I’ve got the flu and I’m sick or if I’ve just had my C-section in the hospital when I had Shiloh, he makes me feel beautiful.
I think there is a lot to being supported and loved. You know, my kids make me feel beautiful. True beauty is when you’ve really found something inside yourself that you’re at peace with and the people around you are as well.
On being “Brangelina”:
We find it silly because we are both so goofy and we know who we are. The fortunate thing is we have so many kids and so many things that ground us. Brad was laughing on the red carpet and people were asking if we were having
a great time, but what he was laughing about was he’d just gotten peed on by our daughter!
On care for the children:
Angelina admits they have multiple nannies, but shared that they do not spend the night.
We take turns working so one of us is always at home and when we work we limit the hours. We don’t work on weekends. We make sure both of us are at home for at least breakfast or dinner. We adjust everything around family and we’re lucky that we can. I feel for mothers who give
birth and have to go to work immediately. We can bring our kids to work, and we only work four months of the year.
Why she chose to sign on to Wanted, an action movie in which she plays an assassin:
When this movie came along, I’d done A Mighty Heart, which is very emotional, and then I was going into Changeling, which was also about losing a child. I had lost my mom, I’d had a baby and I’d been breastfeeding and I was in a very emotional place as a woman. I knew
instinctually and talked to Brad about it, that if I could find
something that would get me physical again it would be like therapy, because everything was making me cry.
On mending fences with her estranged father, Jon Voight:
I think sometimes you have to distance yourself from relationships you feel are unhealthy for you. But we have spoken recently and we are going to try to get to know each other and maybe try not to be this daddy and daughter, but to be there for each other as friends in the coming years.
More kids?
We keep thinking, “is there ever going to be a time when we don’t have kids in the house?”
Maybe we’ll eventually start a foster home or something. We have a clinic that handles children so there are ways of looking after kids without actually physically having them in your home and we’re doing more and more of that. But I think we will adopt again. I’d like to do it again.

This is the same girl who passionately kissed her brother in public, had several bisexual relationships, wore blood vial of her ex-husband’s blood, collected knives and use it to cut herself to feel the pain, steal husbands whenever she can, her own mother allows her boyfriend to move in with her when she was just 14, admitted doing drugs: cocaine, heroin, ecstasy & meth, killed several pets when she was growing up (beat up her dog, rabbit, she allso took her hamster in a hot steamy shower who later died of pneumonia after that she dyed her hamster fur green, tried to kill her snake and lizards -she thought that was cute)….do I need to go on?

Maggie, I can’t imagine that you have been so perfect growing up. I mean, there comes a point in people’s lives that who they are are more important than who they were. I think when I look at the things she’s done, there is a distict difference between the Angelina BEFORE she adopted Maddox and the Angelina AFTER she adopted Maddox. Give her a little credit than after she’s had her children, she’s walked a more straight path and become a phenomenal person. There are people WITH kids who are doing alot of what you are mentioning from Angelina’s past, but with Angelina, it is pretty clean cut that the past is the past for her, so give her a break. Geesh… Leave it to someone like you to remind us that we are not all perfect, but damned if our imperfections are chronicled in the media.
I couldn’t agree more with you. We have all made mistakes in our life and no one is perfect. I can completely different than how I was when I was younger.

Promises, promises, if only it were true. They need to disappear for ever. We all know it won’t happen Angie lives for the publicity. Before hooking up with the puplicity w h o r e Brad was a very private man.
I wish people would get Angelina’s quotes correct and stop quoting “sources” from tabloids. Angelina never said that she was giving up her career to be a stay at home mom. She took time off after having Shiloh but I don’t recall her saying she would give up her career. After adopting Pax she said wouldn’t be filming for a year after she did Changeling and Wanted. That ended in November and she hasn’t lined anything up for the rest of the year. She never said she’s adopting an African or black child. She did say something like she wanted to maintain a balance of the races but didn’t set a timetable for when. The tabloids kept insisting she was about to adopt an African or Haitian child. She doesn’t have an army of nannies. Even the tabloids, who hate her, have been reporting she has a rotation of 2 or 3 nannies. Heidi Klum has a nanny for each of her 3 kids but nobody claims she’s not raising them. I don’t understand the double standard when it comes to Angelina. Whenever a celebrity has a movie, cd, product coming out, they do interviews and talk about their private lives. Why is it that when she does it for her movies she’s out for publicity but it’s perfectly fine for other celebrities?
I don’t think we ever truly know what is really going on with celebrities, but I think they genuinely love each other and their kids. She had some strange, wild years, but never really seemed happy to me at the time. Only since she adopted Maddox has she appeared to be happy in her life, and even more so in the last few years.

Take a look at the photo with all the people clamouring to take photos and Ms Jolie surrounded by body guards. This woman wouldn’t have the freedom to walk to the local shop. Sure they can afford some over-the-top mansion in which to live, but is it a home or a prison? Sure, some of their money would be nice, but I wouldn’t want her life. I’m just going to pop down to the shops now, and enjoy the fact that not one person is going to bother me. That’s freedom! They sold theirs.

Gimme a break. I’m the mom of 5 kids–4 biological, 1 step, and my husband and I do it all by ourselves. I stay at home because we don’t believe in our kids being raised by strangers (a whole other issue, I know), and my husband does the running around to games and practices and appointments when I can’t make it. And we’re certainly not alone. The way these two are idolized make me ill.
BTW–With our one income and 5 kids we still manage to make our charitable donations every year, too. AND WE’RE NOT ALONE THERE, EITHER!

I’m always amazed by the people who take their “favorite” celebrities so seriously. I hope they realize how ridiculous it is to defend or insult the honor of people you don’t know, have never met and, if you did, would only be a blip in their overprivileged lives. I don’t love or hate this woman or her boyfriend, but that doesn’t take away my ability to be sick of seeing her everywhere. It’s not possible to LOVE or HATE anyone you haven’t met so can we please take those words out of this conversation? Please? I just lessens their meaning.
That being said, every time I see her talk about her family or kids or home, I am fascinated by the way that she is fascinated by it herself. I think she has an addictive personality. She focused it elsewhere earlier in life, drugs, self-mutilation, strange obsessions, etc…. and now she’s addicted to her clean cut image. I know, I know, there are worse things to be addicted to. But my experience with people who have personalities like that have shown me that they use it and use it and use it until they’re sick of it and then have to replace it with something else.
