Sharon Stone Apologies For China Insult

I know a lot of you were really upset about what Sharon Stone had to say on the earthquake in China and how it was "karma". So you might be happy to hear that Sharon has issued an apology through Dior China and that they will be pulling all their ads that feature the controversial actress.
"In light of Sharon Stone’s inappropriate comments and their negative impact, Dior China has decided to withdraw [her ads] immediately and stop using Sharon Stone’s image in any advertising, marketing and commercial activities. Dior is one of the international brands that entered China early and has won consumers’ respect and loyalty. We absolutely won’t support any comments that hurt Chinese people’s feelings."
Sharon herself said,
"In the course of the interview I made inappropriate remarks and for any harm created towards the Chinese people I am extremely sad and apologize."
Hmmm, what caused these problems for Sharon...could it be a little word that starts with a K and ends in arma? :P I kid, I kid!
If you missed the original quote (which was WILD), click here.

She's a complete and utter idiot. I hope this will be the demise of her so-called career.
I totally agree with you, Riviera. She shows her true color when there is no publist there telling her what to say. Her so called apology was through her publist as well. She cannot even apology on her own, how should she ever open her big ugly mouth again?
Sharon Stone need a good education. Because Her brain is between her legs!
Oh that's the icing on the cake: that she is sitting there capping on China and meanwhile she is working for a Chinese company, Dior China. Oh that makes it even more outrageous. They were probably paying her ass a fortune. She should give all the money she's ever made in China to earthquake relief efforts.
She's an idiot and proved it by opening her mouth. If she really believed what she said, then she should not have apologized and accepted Dior China's option NOT to use her in their advertising. But because it would cause a financial loss, she decided it would be a smarter decision to retract her words. Either stand up for what you believe, or sit down and drink more kool-aid. Karma gave her a swift swatt in her flat butt.
I really cant stand this woman. You dont have to agree with peoples actions but you dont need to be cruel and hateful. I really hope those in China are staying stong!
Too late Sharon, the damage is already done! Animal hater!!!!!
I wish she would just go away. She hasn't done anything relevant in years....unless you count showing your cooter as relevant.
I worked as a nanny for two weeks for a family in Montecito, CA (beverly hills 2.0.) One of the MANY reasons I quit after two weeks (after having my job before that for 5 years) was because the mother was watching a news report about the Tsunami in Thailand a few years back, and she said "I just have opinions about things like this, that its Karma....the people in Thailand have been very evil for a long time." WHAT?!!!!!! Disgusting! She also told her 3 year old to hold in her stomach while wearing her bathing suit so she wouldn't look fat. Go figure....
This leather-tittied old hide...ever since she spoke ill of Dwight Yoakam (calling him a "dirt sandwich"), I relish in each of her misfortunes and missteps. What a used-up-never-was old hag. Be gone!
We should recognize it for what it is: there is NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH in China!! Dior and Sharon Stone must be defended for having an OPINION and for having the freedom to speak one's mind without fear of economic oppression and retribution. Beware of what you are condemning here: her right to have an opinion, and express it candidly and spontaneously! That is our precious freedom. So, take it all back, and support her right to voice her opinion, because she is a human being FIRST and a businessperson second. What she said angered the oppressive communist regime that has oppressed Tibetans. They force you to collude in that oppression by silencing any opinion! Very revealing of their communist regime.... now imagine, the millions of Tibetans they have silenced by killing them, and now you have a good grip on the issue that Sharon was talking about .... Dior should support the humanization of Sharon Stone, not her de-humanization. This is not just a shallow bimbo comment, it's an issue of great substance and importance to all freedom loving people.
you bitch, you are not human! you wouldn't say the nature disaster is karma.
Alright, then. Calm down. I don't agree with EVERYTHING the previous poster said, but his/her points about Tibet are correct.
Do you think China and its history to say those points are correct? I suggest you or all of us should learn more about Chinese history before we say anything.
Very good point!!!
Do you know China and its history to say those points are correct? I suggest you or all of us should learn more about Chinese history before we say anything.
No. your opinion about Tibet is incorrect, either. I am from Tibet, the thing is not like western people thought, if you don't know the truth, you can come to have a look, if you don't want to come to see the truth, please do not misunderstand this issue! I admit chinese government did something not good before, but that was a loooooong time ago, when my grandparents was young. But they totally changed after that, it become better and better. All the people in china saw the change and we love our government now.
the internet really does have a way of turning people into a monster, huh?
what is the relation between earthquake and freedom? What is the relation between natural calamity and communist regime? It seems you are trying to be logical. Please do not lump different things together to confuse matters. No one from communist regime says Sharon Stone has no freedom of speech in relation to the earthquake. And you, please do not try to pillage @freedom of response@ from general public. Take care p.s.: Sharon=Stone heart
Who cares about freedom of speech? The US media is censored in some way or another for propaganda purposes! Sharon Stone should just be banned from speaking. Everything that comes out of her mouth is utter nonsense anyway. Of course it angered the Chinese government. What regime - communist or not - wouldn't be outraged by what she said? She basically insinuated that all the hundreds of thousands of people devastated by the earthquake deserved it because of the Chinese government ... Ultimately, politics does not have anything to do with this natural disaster and the Chinese people did not deserve to suffer because of their government.
Give me a break! Free speech of such??!! You better keep all of you farts at home. Yes, you can definitely pass your smelly gas in public, but have some decency please, there is no need to fan your smelly gas around the world. Your comment is a good example of how people abuse what's great and change the world into a less pleasant place. Keep your mouth shut, please!!!!!!
Good, freedom loving people feel justice has been shown when they see disaster kill hundreds of thousand of innocent people. It also should be translate to their native language and play by loud speaker that they deserves to be killed b'coz they are not freedom loving people.
hey, bitch, you know what is the FREEDOM OF SPEECH on earth? let me teach you: i think when your father died by car accident or your mother is killed by some perverted persons, i will say " wow, cool, it's very interesting, she/he deserve it! " and you should not show any feeling unhappy, cause that is my freedom of speech! You just is a ****! Dalai Lama should let you suck his ass holt and then **** you to die! as same as Sharon Stone, the old-****-seller!!
more than half of those chinese died (more than 68,000 so far) in the quake were ethnic qiangs and tibetans. what had they done to this bimbo?
God, I hate this haggard ol' ho. I'd like to think that those who gleefully support the outrageously cruel fur industry are gonna have karma handed to them someday. But I don't think thousands of CHILDREN and other Chinese civilians are directly responsible for the mistreatment of the Tibetan people. This is a perfect example of when a celebrity should simply shut her piehole -- though Sharon's been batshit for years. Whatever.
Freedom of speech is **** and nobody can deny this dummy's right to say just about whatever the hell she says. BUT with freedom comes responsibilities. You have to be willing to accept the consequences for what is said. Nobody threw her in jail for gods sake, they just said, "sorry honey if that's the way you feel, don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split you." She had her right to voice her opinion and did so. Dior had a right to cut her off and they did so. No rights were violated in this case. Those people in China have their rights violated on a daily basis and they don't need her adding insult to injury with her Karma comment.
Agree with most of what you said. But I don't feel I have my rights violated on a daily basis here in China. In fact, I have all rights you have, with the only exception of not being able to choose my leader (in fact, I can read all news websites from the West and get as many perspectives as I want). But then, how important is an election to most Chinese, especially when considering that fact that in the West you only get to choose in a narrowed-down field between candidates who have already been pre-selected by the powerful lobby groups and who work for these lobby groups. I prefer a government who is going to jump and do everything to save me when a disaster hit. Regarding Dior dropping Sharon Stone ads: Maybe that is "karma? When you're not nice that the bad things happen to you?"
Good point, I look the money blatantly wasted in the US election campaign where the people get to choose primarily based on the performance Obama and Hillary deliver in the course of the campaign and suddenly a communist regime doesn't seen so.. bad, without the need to waste on the "upholding of democracy". With Sharon's comment, it wasn't so much voicing her opinions that bothered me, what bothered me was that it reflected the way she thinks. It's got nothing to do with freedom of speech, if she had made that comment about a similar tragedy in a democratic country, the public would still react the same way. When I think "freedom of speech" I think about people ahead of their time, or highly insightful contributing to the world in some way. If freedom of speech only lead to dumb, cold hearted and ignorant comments like these, then give me censorship anyday.
Sharon Stone(cold) is an idiot. Opening her stupid mouth is what I call Karma.
it was a dumb statement in the first place. now it's even worse because she's backtracking. at least have the balls to stick one opinion.
