Angelina Jolie Knows How To Protect Her Family

Angelina Jolie
has admitted to purchasing the same guns she used while filming Tomb Raider and isn't afraid to use them should someone threaten her family. If a break in occurs, Angie says that she has "no problem shooting them". As a parent, I completely understand this. In a blink of an eye...

"I bought original real guns of the type we used in Tomb Raider for security.
"If anybody comes into my home and tries to hurt my kids, I’ve no problem shooting them.

"Brad and I are not against having a gun in the house, and we do have one.
And yes, I’d be able to use it if I had to."

They must live in constant fear that someone will try to hurt their kids. We really aren't privy to information like death threats and harassing phone calls. I can't image what they go through. To better prepare her kids for the world, Angelina thinks that they should all learn some sort of self defense.

"I think it’s good for anybody to learn a skill when it comes to fight training, be it king fu, boxing or kick-boxing, because self-defence is important. Brad and I want our kids to learn it. They’re going to get into a fight someday, so they might as well learn how to take care of themselves."

And yet you are the first one to read and comment. Hah, Angie owns you!

She's so pretty. But I thought she was for peace instead of violence? I guess self defense is another story.

Passerby Passerby said:

I hope they keep the guns locked up away from all those kids!

What about Brad? Wimp.

Passerby Passerby said:

Ugh-- 100% agree with you....besides she contradicts herself on her own stories... she says first " I bought original real guns of the type we used in Tomb Raider for security." (MEANING MANY GUNS)
"Brad and I are not against having a gun in the house, and we do have one. (BUT NOW THEY ONLY HAVE ONE?????)

I think being who they are, puts their children in danger more than the average child. (Kidnapping, etc.) I would do the same to protect my family.

Passerby Passerby said:

This is crap. I'm pretty sure they have security at all times.

I don't care for her, but I do agree with what this is saying. I think the article is BS, doesn't sound like her. It does fit her image though, the sexy bad a$$. They lead nerve racking lives as far as the safety for their children. They have mobs that could easily hurt them every day. That being said, I also feel they bring alot of that on themselves. I was kind of hoping they would move to France and live a nice, healthy, happy and PRIVATE life. Seems no such luck......

Hell I keep more than one gun in my house for self defense purposes and barely anybody knows who I am..!

I'd honestly be surprised if I found out they didn't.

Passerby Passerby said:

Yahh I totally agree in self defence but I don't think they need guns I mean think about all the security they have ...bodyguards, alarm systems
do u really think someone is going to break in and get away with it

Passerby Passerby said:

I highly doubt that she has a gun to protect her children...she probably use it to threaten Jennifer Aniston.....Poor Jen!

Passerby Passerby said:

Good thinking. That way, they'll have protection in a few years, when one of their adopted kids wigs out and tries to kill Angie and Brad in their sleep, as a payback for ripping them out of their lives and culture, thrusting them into a media spotlight, throwing them into a chaotic household where no one speaks the same language, and dragging them all over the the world to a new house every two weeks.

oh yea, because growing up without the chance of getting an education and possibly dying of all kinds of diseases is way better than living with them, huh?

Having a gun in the house with 6 young kids is ridiculous!
My ex's daughter was killed when a gun was picked up by a 4yr old and shot his daughter point blank in the heart. She was also 4.
Things happen.

Passerby Passerby said:

then maybe the parents should have kept it up high away from reach and not have kids unsupervised snooping around in areas where the gun would be (like the parent's closet)..

They're freaks!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOLOLOLOL to all of the above :)

i dont understand why she has to go and tell us that. its almost gun propaganda, because she knows that the entire planet listen to what she says and that a lot of people look up to her. so basically, she's telling us, young and old, you need a gun to be safe.

also, i find it very odd that she is all for peace and humanitarian work, but a lot of her movies (tomb raider and more recently, wanted) are about guns and violence...

Passerby Passerby said:

Well, she can't be doing documentaries all the time. And I think it's been established that she can't do romantic commedies, or whatever that movie was where she played a wheather girl.

its been my experience that people who talk tough really aren't. someone can break her skinny a$$ in two. people who are bad a$$es don't go around bragging about how they can fight and beat other people down. sorry. but, talking hard don't make you hard.

Ahh, guns.. I don't like guns for anyone except police officers. If no one had them in the first place, there would be no need for others to have them anyways.

She said that she has never seen Voight's 1979 Oscar-winning performance in Coming Home.

“Because that was when my father left my mom, and the woman who he cheated on her with is in the film,” Jolie says. (When rumors that Jolie had an affair with Pitt while he was wed to Jennifer Aniston, she denied them. "Do I need to defend that I’m a decent woman?" she said.)

I don't think it's contradictory to love peace and own a gun for self protection. Peace should be our default setting. Violence is a helpful last resort. If someone's breaking into my apartment, I'll be calling 911 while I reach for my pistol. I will instruct the intruder that I'm armed, and that it would be in their best interest to get down on their knees and put their hands behind their head. (I go to the range once a month, so accuracy is on my side.) So long as they're not advancing on me, I won't shoot. I won't shoot unless my life is in danger and I've positively identified the intruder as some stranger and not, say, my husband coming home early. My husband works nights so usually it's just me and the kiddos after dark. I love those boys more than life itself and if need be, I will protect them. When seconds count, 911, unfortunately, is often minutes away. Letting an intruder knife up me and/or my children because, unarmed, I'm not capable of taking his knife away from him, wouldn't be very peaceful, now would it.

Also, people who own guns but don't safeguard them from children make me sick. A crying shame that kids have to die because their parents are blithering idiots. Safety, safety, safety, folks.
