Tatum O’Neal was arrested yesterday when an officer caught her trying to buy crack cocaine. She’s had a long time public struggle with drugs and alcohol. But, the Washington Post reports that she tried to play it off when she got caught and say the drugs were for a part.
"You know who I am, right?" she told police as she was arrested, according to the New York Post. "Can’t we forget about this?"
She also said she was just "researching a part … as a junkie."
I do feel for her. She was another child star who grew up to battle addictions like so many end up doing.

This is so sad. I read her book “A Paper Life” and she grew up under some terrible circumstances. Her dad was jealous of her early success and treated her so badly. I wish her well and hopefully she can get the help she needs.
I feel for her too, Vera. It’s so sad when people are addicted. I hope she can get it together. She’s a great actress.
This story blew me away. I just cant believe a celebrity needs to visit street corners for drugs!? I hope she makes it through this.
I was so disappointed to hear of this. I know she has struggle with an addiction since a very young age. Once you start, it is a life long process. Wishing her the best.

Tatum is great in Rescue Me – funny enough playing an alcohol/drug addict. I don’t know why but I really feel sorry for her that she seems to be losing this battle again.
it’s nothing but history repeating itself, I’m sure her daughter is next!!
They should throw the book at her. Maybe some jail time will straighten her out.
Oh no, hasn’t she been sober for a while now? I feel bad for her because she (according to her) had a pretty bad childhood. I feel sorrier for her kids to have a mother with such issues that everyone knows about.
For 44 yrs old she sure is an idiot. To be fair tho I have never smoked, drank or done drugs so I don’t know what an addiction is like. The most I have ever been addicted to is gossip blogs.
