New Artist Slams Madonna HARD

Is it wise to talk so poorly about a music industry staple? Someone that could quite literally crush you with her bare hands? I am surprised and a bit disgusted to read what Sam Sparrow, an Australian singer, had to say about Madonna. In the end, my guess is he was hoping to get a bit of press from his distasteful remarks. Unfortunately, it worked on me... but I just had to share his quote.
"Madonna is wretched at the moment absolutely vulgar. Put it away.
You’re not young and sexy any more. (She was) thoughtful and mature for a while and now she’s chucked it away in a desperate attempt at being hot again. It’s a bit

ITA with the comment also! However, I would never say it to a reporter knowing it would be/could be published. It's just not right to publicly bash others in your industry (or anyone for that matter!).

Madonna is AWESOME! and she looks better than MOST 20 and 30 year olds. (like almost all of them!) She may not be my number one favorite musicly but I can totally appreciate her talent and staying power. At least I know I don't have to be old, fat and wrinkly when I'm 40. I'm gonna ROCK.

She is 50yrs old.... she is no longer the sex symbol she was back in the 80s and 90s. She is too old to be trying to pull off the leather and sexy wardrobe. Just like Sher they need to know when to let go
I agree. She can still be confident and feel sexy in who she is but i think American is getting tired of her flaunting it. We don't need to see it anymore.

I agree with this guy. I do respect her as a musician, even though I am not fond of her. She made some major changes in the industry. She looks great for her age, but it is still like watching my grandma pop her coochie in front of everyone. At this point I would like to see her mature in her dancing, etc.

Eek. Can we say career suicide? Not a very business-minded comment, but definetly the truth on most occassions.
I think she is brilliant and talented and she sure doesn't slow down. I love that fact she is strong and independent and she knows how to stir up controversy - that's why she is famous. One thing I do agree is that she's no longer young - she is fighting too hard to stay young. Working out 3 - 4 hours a day, getting botox, bleaching her hair - she's too obsessed with her looks and she need to stop acting so young - working with Justin Timberlake was a bad move. She needs to grow up and stop acting like a teenager.

I don't know, Vera. I kind of agree with him. LOL. She's getting up there, and while she's still very beautiful, she just doesn't do it for me anymore. She's actually a year older than my mom and when I think of my mom putting on the outfits she does and dancing around like she does, it kinda makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. Probably a very bad decision on HIS part though, to go public with those thoughts.

I don't understand - if Madonna were a man, everyone would say, wow, he's sexy, he's still got it. But when a 50 year old woman does it, everyone says Oh gross, she's old. Why?? If you've still got it, flaunt it! What's wrong with being sexy and 50? There's no need to slow down. I sure hope I'll be as fit and beautiful when I'm 50.

Oh, I don't know. I'm not saying she shouldn't be performing. She's beautiful, but I don't want to see her thrusting her hips around wearing a bikini or a corset....just like...I wouldn't want to see George Clooney in leather pants or a speedo, thrusting around on a stage. There just comes a time, or an age, where you have to hang up your 2-piece and leather pants and say.."Enough is enough."

I definitely agree with you Riviera...to me this quote sounds SO sexist. And if he were bashing on a man, you can bet everyone would be out to defend him, but since it's a woman, it's ok to say that she's old and disgusting. Makes me SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha ha someone HAD to say it and most everyone in the biz would be afraid to, as you pointed out. My God she's not the dictator of a small country, she's a freaking pop singer. Why should anyone be afraid of her? Yes she is great looking for turning 50 this year...amazing actually.

No matter the age, it is undeniable that Madonna looks good. Whether or not people think she is HOT is questionable, but it is just plain ignorant to hate on someone who just happens to be older and in the best shape of her life.
I agree...but I also find it funny that they would judge her, in a negative way. I remember watching a Madonna interview where she said she has more respect and rather be friends with those who are negative than those who ass kiss. Maybe Sam Sparrow knew this and figured Madonna would get in contact...help someones career, ya know LOL

I agree with what he said, but to go up against someone like Madonna in the media is probably not wise.
I felt the same way about the whole Miley Cyrus/Annie Leibowitz (sp?) issue...to cast blame on a legendary photographer is never a good idea. Just like casting disparaging remarks on a music legend is probably not the smartest thing you could do.
i agree with sam sparro on this. i'm afraid Madonna has to tone it down and act her age... she's 50 year old ...it doesn't look normal...in fact she looks vulgar to me and distasteful.
Vera, not censoring yourself and speaking your mind is what life is about. Just because he doesn't sugarcoat his words for a childfriendly website does not make him distasteful or vulgar. one might say posting pictures of britney and amy winehouse in their moments of helplessness is far more distasteful and vulgar. But you do what you have to do to please the masses and hes suddenly ostracized for doing the same thing? I find it hypocritical, which to me is far worse than calling a spade, a spade . Madonna was iconic, she is trying to revive a career way past its expiry date. That doesn't demean who she is and what she did, it speaks to a sense of knowing when to leave the party.
I am sorry but I have to agree with what he says. The problem with madonna is that everybody makes it seem as if she is some kind of Goddess that nobody dares to approach or critique. Which is ridiculous. Especially since the past years all she's been doing is computerized music that sounds like all the other songs at the moment (where's the good music anyway?) and pornographic videos. Yes, she might have been "revolutional" 20 years ago, provoking aso. But you have to realize some day that you should grow and showing us her "inbetweenlegs" all the time certainly won't raise my respect for that woman.

Perhaps it is harsh BUT it is the TRUTH. When you are an entertainer you should be ready for this type of comments. Why cant some stars just exit gracefully and insist on staying in a spotlite way past their prime? And even beyond that..if Madonna would merely make albums it would be one thing, but she insists on staying in the news by means other than her music, which is annoying, and she does seem desperate for attention for her self serving needs. It is not about her age, she is spent as artist...that is all.....

I understand what he is saying and I agree with him, although I don't agree with how he phrased his remarks. Madonna does look better than some 20 and 30 year olds, but she is not 20 or 30, she's 50 and therefore I believe she should act a little more age appropriate. But my hats off to her for looking that awesome at 50!
